me either. With the way the court system is, I doubt he has gone to trial yet.

This is my first time hearing about this. That is horrible!

Bummer... I was hoping someone might have a bit of more news on him. I heard he made all his myspace profiles private. I'm sure the hate mail he got must have scared him away!

My son told me about this. He saw it on U-Tube. I refused to watch it however, he said that it was a hoax and that the puppy was not real or something to that effect but that they were bringing charges up against the soldier because of it being so awful. Again, this may be wrong information as I did not see the footage. I just can't watch it. I know my son was very upset when he first watched it.

I had heard that was a real possibility. But the poor taste that would show is, in my opinion, is barely up one rung from the scum that would actually do it.

i never actually watched it either. I just couldn't. It was bad enough reading abut the poor puppy. The last thing I saw said the video had been analyzed and it was a real, unedited video.

OMG....I had never even heard about this. My stomach turned and my eyes welled up with tears when I watched the video....they will get whats coming to them.

just wanted to let you know that USA Today published an article on June 12 stating that the marine who actually did the throwing received "non-judicial punishment" and is being pushed out of the service. i think the other two marines involved also received non-judicial punishment, but aren't getting kicked out. i'm not positive about that though.

With non-judicial punishment, the maximum permissible punishments depends on the rank of the accused and that of the officer conducting the hearing. Permissible punishments for officers can include forfeiture of pay (up to ½ of one month's pay per month for two months), restriction to base or to the ship (up to 60 days), arrest in quarters (up to 30 days), and a reprimand.

i don't think it sounds like "non-judicial punishment" is enough for what that guy did. i think it was criminal, but apparently receipt of non-judicial punishment does not constitute a criminal conviction. so, no jail time or anything like that.

here's a link to an article published on June 13 that states the video was in fact real, and the puppy was alive and not a doll/puppet. the link might say "server too busy" but it still goes to the article.Server too busy!

the image of the video still plagues my mind, and i sometimes think about it randomly and get sad. i don't understand how people can have a total disregard for life (human or animal).

omg that is horrible. i had never even heard about this. poor doggy u can hear him squeal right before he gets thrown. somebody should grab that man by his b@lls and do the same to him. except throw him off a plane with no chute.

He is a disgrace to the uniform that he wears (and to mankind). The Marines should throw his *ss out and jail him. sicko.:mad:

i know! my bf came across this on the internet, and showed me. i immediately regretted watching it because now it's ingrained in my brain.

being kicked out of the military isn't punishment enough if you ask me. he can hurt puppies (and any other animals) as a civilian too, ya know??

omggggg i just saw this & let me tell u i agree with every1 he should be thrown off a cliff how dare he who does he think he is harming an innocent animal...i mean omg that just ruined my day i cant even imagine...and of course no punishment whats that about!!

i agree....we should all get him and throw him off the cliff and see how he likes it...and really y is it they dont take animal cruelty seriously...

I read the update, too. Seems as though he has been kicked out of the Marines.

I agree with you there. I think that he should be brought before 12 jurors, all from Yorkie Talk, and let us decide what should become of this man.

The Marines made a statement that this is not the sort of person they want--they kicked him out. I don't know if there are any other repercussions. I hope so, but I kind of doubt it.

I hope he is miserable for the rest of his life.

That is just plain cruel. Why would someone do something so horrible? Toss him off the cliff! No that is not punishment enough. He will pay in time. That just makes me sick!
