Yorkie Treats What are the best yorkie treats?????? I havnt done a lot of searching, but i cant afford to figure it out. haha. :teethysmi |
Cheerios Mine love cheerios and they can have alot and not get fat...cheap when you have lots of Yorkies. |
I posted something similar a few weeks back and here's what everyone said... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10151 Bullwrinkles Pup-peroni Chicken & Rice Sticks Flavor bones |
Mine goes CRAZY for chicken flavored jerky..it was suggested by someone on this forum....got it at Petsmart. |
My babies love Gooberlicious by Bil-Jac and the Nature's Miracle Training Treats. Both of them are at Petsmart. They also like these little t-bone steak things from Target. Cheese is also good, but it gives Linus gas. And baby carrots and frozen green beans. |
I give Snoodles treats that are good for her teeth! Yorkies are nortorious for loosing their teeth. She goes nuts over Greenies. Plus dental chews. I cut them up real small though so I don't have another run to the emergency vet! Pat |
I got Yogurt Drops with my YT Gift Exchange gift & they are awesome! They're small enough to give them a few during the day. I wouldn't have bought them on my own, but now that my dogs have tried them I have to keep buying them. They're my favorite! |
WHERE DO YOU GET THE YOGART DROPS? I'VE TRIED CHEERIOS BUT SHE DOESN'T SEEM INTERESTED. JOY, NIKKI :animal-sm AND CHLOE ROSE :rose: :wavey: |

I've seen them at Petco & Petsmart. They come in a cylinder (sp?) container. They come in all different flavors, but I try to stay away from chocolate because I don't want my dogs to get a taste for chocolate. But they have peanut butter ones that they LOVE! |
1 Attachment(s) I have a question??? in regards to giving treats..and a little concerned how often do you give your babys treats? once a day every day, twice a week? what is too much? I noticed recently when I give tilly & sami a treat like the ones mentioned here (except cheerios) which I never thought of! seems like they wont eat their regular food for that day waiting for another one? I give them each one a day? could it be due to the hot weather? and they don't have an appetite? then yesterday when I picked them both up from the groomers, I didn't realize how skinny sami was? maybe it's because he was completely shaved (for summer) that I didn't realize how thin he is? In amother thread I mentioned a problem with a food control issue with tilly guarding the food, and now wondering if sami is too thin? and is not eating  he is 7 mo's and weighs 5lbs 6oz? I was told by my vet he should be around 7 lbs at a year old? Is this a normal weight at 7 mo if he is supposed to be around 7lbs? does he look too skinny ? or unhealthy? for his size? should I have him seen by the vet? |
HE DOESN'T LOOK SKINNY TO ME. HE LOOKS VERY HEALTHY AND HIS HAIR IS SO SHINY. DON'T HESITATE ABOUT TAKING HIM TO THE VET.....WE ALWAYS FEEL BETTER KNOWING THAT EVERYTHING IS OK!!!!!!! WHAT CUTE TOYS HE HAS. JOY, NIKKI :animal-sm AND CHLOE ROSE:rose: :yorkiesar |
He doesn't look skinny to me - just shy!! |
Alley's favorites I give Alley the following as treats Charlie Bear treats (3 calories each) Flavored Nylabones Science Diet biscuits Raw baby carrots Apple Beggin' Strips Meaty Bone |
I have 7 Yorkies and I make one Breath Buster into treats for everyone of them. Actually, I break the thing in half and make 7 treats out of each half for a taoal of 14 treats. Yorkies treats ,IMO, should be no larger than half of your pinky nail..I have used BilJacs liver treats cut into 4 parts. But, my alltime favorite treat for my babies is just a different brand of dog food. Right now their food is BilJac and RC, and treats are Iams daily dental.. |
this is so funny: Megan is training Tucker and she gives him treats every time he does what he is supposed to. Well, I was saying he shouldn't have that many treats and she showed me she is using his dry dog food! Since he hasn't had anything else ever, he must think that is what everything tastes like! |
