I think Whispersmoms suggestion is great!! I have a hard time with treats. Rio loves his bedtime scooby snack probably the junkiest treat out there but he just usually buries it in my bed. On other nights he will eat it, it has become a ritual after 3 yrs. The one treat they will never turn down tho is a hotdog sliced into thin tiny pieces and nuked until it is like beef jerky. I keep those in the fridge and have never seen them turn them down. My girlfriend trains search and rescue dogs, she always has a few in her pocket. I started making them after Rio tried to chew a hole in her coat to get to them, he is my picky one. |
Petsmart carries these things called PupCorn... They come in a big canister and ALL of our dogs go nuts for them. They are dog-shaped, so we usually break off the little legs and tails for Roxy and feed the big parts to the Scotty. :D |
I give my dogs pupcorn, yoqurt drops, and fresh fruit and vegetables. |

I can't give Syd any of the soft treats like puperoni or the chicken jerky b/c it gives her the poopies (sorry there is no nice way to say that). The only thing that works for her is Iams puppy biscuits...and she loves them. She gets a half of one every time she goes pee on the pad and a whole one if she poops on the pad. Ocassionally it does ruin her supper if she gets a couple close to meal-time. But the Iams treats have all the nutrition of the dog food...so I don't really worry about it too much. |
