I didn't read the article but from what I've seen posted it sounds like the woman knew it was against the law to dye her dog. If that's the case she blatantly broke the law. I don't necessarily agree with the law but it still doesn't give her the right to break it. If the speed limit says it's 35 mph and I think it's stupid it doesn't give me the right to go 55, I'm gonna get a ticket if I get caught. If she knowingly broke the law she's going to have to pay the consequences. This is a lesson for our kids, there will always be consequences to our actions, good or bad. |
I think its fine if the dye is safe and doesnt hurt them. |
I saw on Animal Cops...they seized a bunch on dyed chicks...but I mean if it's organic and you're not selling the animal it shouldn't matter...I do believe that dogs know what they look like though, maybe thats just me though lol but I think Nugget would be humiliated if I dyed him pink (if he had white hair) but to each his own |
I think this is rediculous! Dying the dog didn't hurt it one bit and she was even doing it for a good cause. People break trivial laws all the time and law-makers look the other way... why go after this woman? I mean..seriously...spend the time and money going after someone abusing their dog or a puppymill or something. Just rediculous :thumbdown I understand the law was made to stop chickens and rabbits from being died and sold for Easter. Well...they could have written the law to say something like "dying an animal is illegal if the animal is intended to be sold" or something. While I do see a problem with people dying animals to make a bigger profit off of them...I see no problem in someone safely dying their personal pet. So they need to rewrite the law to be specific for animals being sold only. And really...again..they can choose to turn their head this time and then rewrite the law. It's just rediculous to prosecute this woman for dying her personal pet...just ignorant :thumbdown |
What got me, was them saying, that they had had lots of people commenting on the dyed dog and brought attention to it. What are these do gooders after any way, The dog really looked in pain and in poor condition. HA. There are people out there who aren't happy unless causing someone else pain. I think that it was a cute idea for a good cause. |
Thats crazy! "total Chris Crocker moment!" Leave the poor woman alone!!! It just goes to show you that the government always goes over board! |
It was not harmful to the poodle and for a good cause! I think its a sad day in our great country when the government wastes their time and the taxpayers money prosecuting someone for something like that when there are so many other more severe crimes going unpunished! |
You can go to Riverstreet in Savannah on St Paddy's day and see green dogs everywhere! I don't think the dogs are hurt, but I do understand and agree with not dying chicks and ducklings. I think common sense has to be used when applying the law. |

Well I think a lot of people must think it's pretty cool because Joj-Gee is in a Polished Pooch Contest, the first round ends today, and a poodle with a dyed blue mohawk has way more votes than Joj. |
