advice on buying online
 
i am looking at some yorkies from a lady in OK. nice website i located her off of puppy find. she is very nice i been emailing her all day she seems like a "Real person".

what are some tips to make sure she is not a scammer..i dont think she is but what are some measures i can take.

There are a lot of puppy mills in Ok.. Becareful

I did this one time and it was a scam. One thing was a red flag get her phone number...we did and it was a cell number and when we tried to call them back it would not go through. When they would finally call you could not understand them. Call her and talk.

I bought Rascal from a lady in OK. I found her on the internet. She was great. I never had any problems. I found Rascal 3 weeks before he was old enough to come home with me, and she kept in contact with me the whole time. She would send me updated pictures. What is the lady's name?

One way to make sure she actually has pups and isn't using someone elses pics is ask her to hold a sign in front of the pup w/ your name and the date on it and email you the picture.

Littlewhip and Mickey I know are from Michigan..I bought mine from a fantastic breeder from Michigan...she just had more babies a couple days ago...

I'm in Oklahoma as well. Be careful, there are a lot of bad breeders. Do you have links to the ads or her website?

I'd be glad to check her out for you if you'd like.

There are Yorkie breeders in Richmond VA. you could check out much easier and go see the pups. If you buy a pup sight unseen, it could prove to be a very bad mistake.

I bought Dim Sum online. The first thing I did was see if they were registered with the CKC. (Canadian Kennel Club). I believe for you it would be the AKC.

After that then I started asking my questions and pics and all the other fun stuff. It was a great experience and I didn't feel like anything was wrong.

I guess if you feel something isn't right.. then there must be something wrong.

I am also a breeder in Oklahoma. I myself have been scam by a Oklahoma breeder. The puppy mill breeder I am talking about is Chaffin's. The ripped me off. If you buy you need to go and pick up the puppy yourself, see there place and the pups too. You can also ask for other people who has bought from them so you can contact them yourself. Check more than 5 people until you feel safe. The best thing is to pick it up yourself. Good luck.

Just my personal opinion. I would never ever buy a living creature without having personally seen him/her/it and had inspected the home it was coming from UNLESS I personally knew the person with whom I was doing business.

I KNOW that the number of good honest people who sell pups far outweighs the dishonest ones, but with my luck ....

I alway thought the good honest outweighs the dishonest ones, But now It makes me wonder if there are not more bad one's than good.

Debbie, sometimes I wonder too, but my heart tells me that there really are more honest people. Maybe it's just the good honest people quietly go about their business and the dishonest ones scream buy from me - buy from me.

I guess so. I am quiet you are to I guess. I am sick of trash people. I am not going to keep quiet anymore. I am tired of being nice. I am out to put every bad breeder out of business. Oklahoma did not get any State laws passed. I am for them. I think that they will put a lot of trash breeders out of business. It is so sad to see all of these so called yorkies. They are so ugly and not within the standard and they keep on breeding them and people keep on buying. I am in the middle of getting even with a breeder now. When it is over I will post the results. When ever that will be. I have sent everything to everyone I can think of that it should matter too! There is so many loop holes in everything. This agency only deals with this and that, so I am not leaving anything out and sending it all to all of them. I dont care if it takes me 3 years, I am not going to stop taking care of this disgusting business. Hell is going to be full of scam artist.

I am doing everything by the book. Just sending all info to AKC, USDA, etc. They need to know it and do something it was to them as well as me. If everyone would do the same maybe oneday something would be done or changed for the better.

i would look at the YTCA breeders before looking at anyone else on-line.
