I welled up with tears and was not good at hiding my dismay. They are now growing it out, and I will NEVER EVER go there again! |

She's adorable...honestly, she is! I wouldn't want to pay either! I think I would taken my dog and left without paying. Of course that's easier said than done. |
UPDATE: DH called the owner, and told him what happend. He was very upset with the groomer, apparently he used to raise yorkies and actually complimented our dog, said she had a great build and could tell she had a good bloodline (yes I got pretty proud at that comment) and said she SHOULD NOT have cut the hair like that at all. He said if we would be interested in letting them try again our next visit would be free, and he would make sure to stay and be sure only what we said was done. He said he was going to have a chat with her. He couldnt' believe she would do this. |
well i am glad the owner has some sense and knows the groomer did a horrible job... i would be furious too but your baby is still adorable :) but yes, very very angry is understandable! |
I haven't taken Roxy to a groomer yet and she is 8 months old because of the very thing that happened to you. I brush her every day but still can't keep up with the matting. Does anyone know of a great groomer in NC? |
I know what you mean.. when i got my Bunny.. I took her in for the 1st time EVER to petco and OMG I dont know what the lady was thinking ...one side of her face was longer then the other...it was a mess! I had to have her shaved. That was the 1st and last time I took her there. Now we have a nice groomer here in Germany.. but I am going to have to find a new one soon, when we move back to the states :(. Good Groomers are soo hard to fine! But just keep telling your self "IT will GROW" and as soon as you know it.. it will just be a memory |

Ava is still a cute little sweetie But I know just what you mean. Groomers need to do just what we ask. |
this happened to me too. i took my moms yorkie in for his first professional cut in december and i really thought hed come out looking better. i said.. we are growing it out, only trim up the bottom a bit and leave the top alone. when i came to pick him up she had COMPLETLY SHAVED HIS BACK HAIR OFF and didnt even TOUCH the bottom hair... it was the exact opposite of what i asked for. she said he "looked shaggy" and she wanted him to look more clean cut. UM HELLO? IS HE YOURR DOG? NO! he was totally cute before and looked like a puppy. i was also mad that she shaved his ears cus his ear hair was long and it was cute and I did not say she could cut it. i almost cried, seriously.. he just looked so bad. then she had the nerve to charge me almost 60 dollars for that crap ass cut. :thumbdown |
I can sympathise with you! Pixie's first groom back in january was not the best either...Pixie hated it and would not behave (funnily enough she will sit still for me!)...once the silly woman had pulled on her hair and hurt her...that was it..she was not going to sit still then..she was shaking! luckily she did not take too much off..she wouldn't have got near her head anyway! i'm going to try one more grooming salon that i have in mind...i will take what i want done written down on paper i think! if they turn out to be no good...then i will be doing it myself! |
I don't know what she was thinking!!! I would have been really upset too. Thank goodness my groomer has Yorkies of her own. She has never cut a hair on their heads that shouldn't be touched. Of course it'll grow back, but it really sets you back timewise!! I'd be infuriated. :( |
I think part of my initial anger was just that I was having a bad day (my dad went to the er thinking he had a stroke the night before) and we had no idea what was wrong, so I was super stressed because I live so far away (he lives in ohio I live in texas) my brother wasn't helping out at all. It turned out my dad has some strange viral infection that just has to run its course (blurred vision, body numbness etc) As for the grooming...Im still upset I feel like she isn't even the same dog when I look at her, but its hair we have all had bad cuts ourselves i'm sure. I love her just the same. She is such a good girl! I learned a valuable lesson, to make sure they know what NOT to do to a yorkie, and to stay and watch! |
I just have to add: need to get off my chest too...................reminded me on another thread. The groomer Always cuts my gran furbaby's eyelashes! He has the longest eyelashes and soooooooo Cute. Even tho he's a boy. ;) I'm not a groomer, so I don't understand, But is it that hard when trimming the eyes to NOT trim the eyelashes? I want to Learn to do it, but Scared:confused:. Is there a class you can take? Where should I look? Thanks..... |
