| I bet you'd get a lot more replies if you posted this in the Health and Diet section. Posts in the General section tend to get overlooked. I don't know about other vitamins but I know a lot of members give a Vitamin E/fish oil supplement to help with coat growth and also if they homecook.

| If you want to use supplements to help treat a problem, that is one thing. Just adding vitamins to already balanced dog food isn't necessary and could throw off the balance.

Unless you are homecooking, you shouldn't add vitamins. If you are feeding a high quality commercial dog food, it is already balanced. You can add supplements to help with certain issues. For example, my Lady get Marin for her liver, Cosequin for her arthritis, 3V caps (fish oil) to support her immune system/allergies, and Transfer Factor (colostrum) also for her immune system. Lady is diabetic and has a weakened immune system. | |
