| Just saw this on the news...pet insurance Take a look at this. This was just on our local news. It's for dogs & cats that are 1 year old or younger. I read through it and looks like a good thing to do. I'm going to sign up for the trial when Aidan arrives tomorrow. http://trupanion.com

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Don't like insurance programs, too much money is wasted on salesman and running the insurance company. You have to read them so carefully, so that you know what will be covered and what the deductible its. You're better off going with a reliable breeder with a health guarantee and putting your "premium payments" into a health savings account for your little one. Make sure the vet you choose accepts this insurance if you decide to get it, many vet don't like insurance because it increases office costs with all the additional paperwork.

| I have insurance on Bitsy. I started it the day I brought her home. I can't tell you how good it is because fortunately I haven't had to make a claim. I decided to do the insurance because I would be a wreck if something happened to her and I couldn't afford her medical bills. I don't really have anyone who can help me financially (and my credit is bad), so this gives me peace of mind. I didn't get insurance for the kitties because they are strictly indoor kitties so the likelihood of them needing expensive vet bills are lower (at least I'm hoping). What I did do is set aside a "kitties savings account". I have $15 automatically transfered every paycheque to a different account so I won't spend it.
