Welcome to YT!!! So nice to have you! Sorry about your westie. How heart breaking... I love little westies, I thought about about getting a westie but decided on a Yorkie Instead. Just be careful what you feed your yorkie. They can't handle fat at all so bacon and things like it are a real no no. Glad you have you here!:D |

There is just something about you that I like! I love your writing and thank you for the laughs.... I agree we should have a yorkie fathers club how about calling you "POPS" verses GEEZER:p |
I enjoyed reading your story. You can tell you have a warm caring heart and a great sense of humor. What a great combination. This little guy is so lucky to be in a loving home. It's extremely hard to lose a belove pet. My daughter always said when she lost her cat of 12 years that he sent an angel to bring her a new one. Can't wait to hear updates! |
Your story certainly made me laugh! Our story is similar. My husband and I are both retired. After our Jack Russell passed away last summer we told each other that we would have no more dogs. Over the years we lost so many dear dogs, a cat and even a horse. But now we have our little Yorkie and he is like no pet we have ever had before! By the way, he has plenty of outfits and it is my husband that picked them out. He has a beautiful shearling coat, a raincoat, and even a Yankee shirt for cool summer evenings. Our favorite is his FBI fleece shirt. He causes quite a stir wherever we go. As far as housebreaking, I found that taking the pup out many many times during the day, after he ate, played, woke up from a nap, etc., helped do the trick. We both dressed up in our foul weather gear and braved the elements. He goes to sleep in his crate next to our bed, covered with a light towel, and he sleeps through the night with no problem. Remi goes everywhere with us. He has been to weddings, funerals, birthday parties and barbecues. We know you will enjoy your new baby as much as we do. In fact, our opinion is that you actually need to be retired in order to give our Yorkie the full attention he deserves! I too am a survivor and can relate well to your wife. My husband walks with a cane so I do most of the care, although when I am not a home he manages very well. Best regards, Marilyn |
So sorry for the loss of your Westie. I forgot to write this previously. And we are happy that you and your wife have a new love of your life! |
Thank you all for your comments. I will try and answer most of you at one time. Pictures, pictures,,,,, last ones I took were with the Polaroid, remember, you took them and then wiped them with some solution. I'll have to get one of the grandkids to take some with their phones. I gave up on keeping up with all this new stuff when I retired about 10 years ago. Yes, it was tough losing my Westie buddy. To be honest, Dazee was more my wifes dog than mine. One thing I have learned through the years is, every dog you have is special in it's own way and no other dog can take it's place. Every time we lost a dog and then got another one, there was always that feeling that nothing would ever replace the one you lost. You can't replace a dog that was part of your family but you can move on to a new experience of a different type that is just as fulfilling. I have fond memories of every dog we have had through the years. Now it's time to make some more with this little guy. |
