Wow. You guys are so much nicer than I would be. I've never run into a situation like that (fortunately!), but Franklin is a whopping 6.5 lbs ;) and he's only 5 months!! I know he'll probably be at least 8 lbs full grown. I don't know what I would say, but I can guarantee you it would not be nice. That's just ridiculous. |
I know wht you mean! Laura's Mom has Mi'Leigh and Koda's other brother he was the smallest of the 3.. Everytime Mi Goes to the vet she has to call me and ask how much does she Weigh now and I'll tell her and she will be like yeah she is so big:mad: .. When Mandy had Koda she had to go out of town and ask her to watch him she had to nerve to say oh no im sorry but he is just to big when Mi was here she was sooooo much bigger then Bandit she nearly hurt him:mad: !! He is like 3.8 lbs or something.. Mi is 5.7 and my Koda is 4lbs even.. She keeps feeding him they way she does he is going to be 12in tall and 12in round:rolleyes: .. What aggervated me so bad was before i knew i was getting Koda (Monster) I told her I was lookin for a little male and she was all like yall don't need one bandit's size cuz Mi is so big she will hurt it.. Gotta love Family!! |
A good response would be: "Yes, they are a little bigger than some Yorkies, and they also like to bite people who are insensitive and rude to them and their owner". ;) |
SOME people are just soo rude. I have the opposite problem, people ask me constantly why mine are soo small? and where i got my teacups? blah..blah..makes me sooo angry. but i learn to ignore them. |
Funny you brought this topic up. I remember when my Bella was 6 months old weighing at 3 pounds. This lady passed by and made a comment to her husband that Bella is big for a yorkie and that they don't normally get that big. I looked at my boyfriend and he looked at me and we were thinking what planet is this lady from and is she for realz? I really wanted to say something back to you her but since she was an elderly lady, I let it go. Besides I was so shocked from her stupidity that I was at lost for words. |
you get silly rude comments with the little ones too...I met a lady today who asked how much Pixie weighed..when i told her she told me i should feed her more!  |
When Chip got neutered he was 8 lbs... he's far from fat. Some guy made a comment at the vet's office "That's a lot of weight for a little dog!" Yea well, his one dog was so fat, he/she could hardly walk, and his other dog was shaking too bad to even be put on the floor... and he was saying WHAT to ME?! lol |
i get the same comments. Bobby is 9 months going on 8 lbs. I just ignore these dumb people. |

rude comments My Chunk is a 14lb chocolate yorkie. I took him to this groomer who was suppose to specialize in yorkies. The owner of the shop is a yorkie breeder and she suggested that Chunk was part silky terrier because of his size and color. I noticed that he wasn't treated like all the other small yorkies in the shop. I saw her tiny female that she breeds. I noticed her dog was making a strange noise. Come to find out she had that poor little dog debarked. Needless to say I have not taken him back. We went back to Vanessa and Loren at the Whittier Petsmart. They always receive Chunk with love and kisses. |
I havent run into this problem but look at it like this. They are your babies and like you said they are perfect to you. Some individuals take the toy breeds/Lap dogs to another level like fashion. All that matters is that your babies are loved, health and happy. By the way post some pics so we can see your perfect babies. |

Yup! Just ignore them! Tell them "he's all mine" the bigger the yorkie, the more to hug! Mine keep me warm at night. Boobah has gotten to the point where he is loyal and obedient. I love gina, too, she is the tiny one on the right. |
you oughta hear when I bring Tootie(16 lbs) and Hope(5 lbs) out together... I get the STRANGEST comments. I am often told "he cant be a yorkie".... I just laugh at them cuz he is my BABY! d |
