teacup everywhere Seems like everywhere I turned today someone was talking about teacup yorkies or teacup chuawuah (spelling) I'm not kidding vets, walmarts then on the phone with church member. |
I know what you mean. I feel like it's a losing battle. The general public thinks there is a teacup yorkie. Joey's around 5 ½ pounds and people always ask me if he's a teacup. I always say, "no he's standard, anything under 7lbs is standard." Then they insist that standard is much higher. I think it the poodles fault! |
Chloe is a Shot Glass Yorkie :D |
....even at the groomers too:( |

I was walking Chloe with my friends Yorkie who is quite large around 8lbs, and someone called her Teacup. I go nah, shes a Shot Glass and thats a Margarita Glass Yorkie. The lady had no words in return. |

i cant stand the name "TEA CUP"   |
tell me about it...i get into some deep lecturing when it comes to family and friends...they keep insisting that Yoshi is a teacup...and i am like there is no such thing as a teacup yorkie...he might be a tiny yorkie but no teacup..hehe |
It is annoying I saw the other day a commercial for teacup yorkies and maltese, they were stuffed animals for little girls. Arggh and it made it all cutesy because the yorkies or maltese whichever one they choose come with a purse. I bet some of those little girls will be asking for a real one next. |
Why is ok to call some teapots and not call others teacups? Its just a word to describe if the puppy is small or big. Why is everyone getting so upset about a little word. |

If I heard a vet, groomer, etc use the term teacup I would turn around and walk right out the door. I don't trust uneducated people with Tilly. As a groomer, you should also know these things. That is part of the training. That's very unprofessional. |
