I guess I've always known that my animals (all animals) are my preferred company....been married for 28 years, have a 23 year old daughter...still love my babies....people use to tell me "you'll change your mind when you get married and have a baby"


I never did....I guess not getting along with the kids at school (I was overweight) and not having siblings allowed me to create my own world of dogs and cats.....my own society...where I am loved and accepted for who I am.

Fifty years later...I'm the same way...

I am a people person and dog person..some dogs I get along with better than people, but, I always have put my husband, children and family before my pets..

As a group...one versus the other...yes, I do prefer animals.

Well Maya is not a Pet to us ... she is a Family Member and we love her. I get along better with some People's Dogs then the Person owning the Dog. Don't know why ...... Pets love me and my Daughter ..... I always had Dogs around me growing up ... maybe thats why.

Me Me Me!!! Seriously I am a homebody and prefer it that way most the time. My life is with my dogs. Most everything I do, such as trips or spending extra money, has something to do with the dogs. Such as dog shows, toys, accessories etc. I am constantly buying books and researching health, nutrition for dogs. Dogs are so loyal and don't discriminate, usually, lol. I am fairly young too, so people would prob expect me to prefer to be going out all the time. But I have always been this way. I have had lots of pets growing up, started off with a hamster, then I had rabbits, Cats, dogs, turtles, frogs, birds, not all at once though. Ok, enough blabbing, i just saw this post and It made me laugh to myself as i reflect on my life and realize i like animals much better.

My hubby of 25 years says that Gypsy fills a place in my heart he will never fill. I love my furbaby but I do love my hubby and dtr (21 years old). Animals are usually more acceptable of people than other people.

I do like people but I enjoy the company of my dogs more than some people I have met over the years! Dogs are just soooooooo kind and accepting :)

Yes that for the most part fits me also. Now My Husband and family still come before my dogs but I prefer the company of my dogs over most people

I am at a point in my life where I am free to put my pet before anyone
else and I do. I had a family to raise and husband to raise (:p ) and
always had a family pet of one kind or another. But the kids always
came first of course. Now, it's me and Buddy all the way. Everyone
else just has to understand and if they don't, so be it! Buddy is #1 in my life today and it's all about him. There are many things I no longer do but I
made the commitment knowing this and I have no regrets.
Whoever sad "Man's Best Friend is his Dog" could not have been more
correct. They listen to eveything you say and never judge you they
just love you.

So glad I'm not alone here! I have far more respect for animals than humans...and yep...generally like 'em a whole lot better too. What's not to love/like, ya know? So pure, lovable, unconditional! :D

I even had this discussion with my Bf. If I had to choose between him or my pets, he would be the one out on the street. :D

I much prefer my animals. Some times people are so inconsiderate and rude. There are times I prefer my animals to my own children. My pets have never answered me back (well, maybe some times they do), they never wear my clothes and return them soiled, I don't have to wait up for them at night, they have never crashed my car and I didn't have to work to send them to college.

Animals for sure!

I love my friends and family, but the general public, not so much, don't get me wrong I care about everyone, I just prefer to spend my time and money on my dogs!

I've never really met an animal I haven't liked...I've met animals who werent trained well and really didn't want to be around them because of that, but I HAVE met people I haven't liked (haven't we all?) I'll always prefer the company of Rocky and Bella and the other dogs I have had that have past on, and I'll always prefer the company of my friends and family that I love, so I guess it's a tie for me. Really all depends on the person, and the animal though.

(well, you can nip that in the bud), or if you want them to get pregnant, you can profit from the offspring.

That's pretty much just how I feel. Don't get me wrong, I love my family and friends. Have always had dogs and horses in my life and our daughter grew up with them and now has her own. If you were to ask our daughter she would say that our yorkies have more toys than she ever did. (not true). Whether it's working with horses or just loving my yorkies, animals give something that no human can. Their all our family members. It's nice to know that I'm far from being alone in the way I feel.:animal-pa
