You should search for breeding laws to do with selling dogs in California. Here in FL we have something called the Puppy lemon Law....a breeder can not sell a sick dog without first notifying you of the dogs condition. I'm going thru something similar w/ my breeder....we took our new puppy to the vet and found out he has a Heart Murmur, which is a congenital defect, which means he was born with it. We are going to the vet today to see if it's still there or if we are lucky enough that it closed. We are trying to negotiate getting some money back....it's a very long and agonizing battle. It's basically he said she said. I wish you friend the best of luck! I hope their puppy is alright. If it turns out that anything is wrong with him, have them contact the better business bureau (sp?) or look into taking them to small claims court. |

Yes, to take her to court...she would pay the filing fee for the warrant. Here it is $35. Depending on the judgement sometimes you get the filing fee reimbursed to you. In order to proceed...your friend will have to have the breeder's full name and address...not just a phone number, not a license plate number. Since you don't think the puppy ever receive any shots, I highly recommend you get to the vet's for a check up and start those...especially pravo. Afterward she could take the seller to small claims court to recoup the cost. Regardless the puppy needs those vaccinations. I hope puppy is okay. What's puppy's name, btw? |

I have no clue. I really don't think any legal authority would give you that information. Not to mention who the tags are registered to...may or may not be "Jessica." There are pay for services on line that would give you who owns a cell phone if you have that number. That's the number you have, correct? A cell vs a landline? A landline which is listed...you can google and come up with the person's name and address. Again, may or may not be "Jessica". I think your friend should consider it a lesson learned and take Chloe to the vet's. Btw, since you don't think Chloe has any of her shots....do not take her out in public places including pet stores. |
To me, it sounds like theres a high possibility the puppy was stolen. Unloading in a parking lot and has no shot records, but she will TELL your friend what shots have been given. hmmmmm |

Ya know...on the shots thing...it would've been easy enough to give you the vet's name. |

I hope the pup was not stolen from someone else. and having said that, I hope the pup is healthy. |
