Ordering shots from Dr.'s Foster and Smith?
 
I was gonna order my shots from this website. Izzy only needs one more shot plus rabies. I was gonna order the 7 Way Vaccines Plus Coronavirus
Protects against canine distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus cough, parainfluenza, parvovirus, coronavirus, and leptospirosis. The distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus cough, parainfluenza, and parvovirus are modified live. Give subcutaneously. Is this what I need, if not please tell me what to order? I have 3 dogs Im ordering for.

Corona and Lepto are not core vaccines and Lepto has been known to cause severe reactions (including death) in Yorkies. They're not recommended. Lepto should only be given if it is a serious problem in your area.

i would not give corona or lepto to a small dog.

I would NOT get the lepto...I do love drsfostersmith though, that's the only place I'll order my pee pads from..they have the best ones..:)drsfostersmith have a live person you can talk too on their website..

Since your dog only needs one more puppy shot, you need to know what they have received so far. Who gave them their other shots, the vet or breeder? If you give them something they have not gotten yet, it won't do any good with just one shot. Also, have you ever given shots before? If not, maybe you should use the vet since you have to go anyway for the rabies. You could take all 3 at once to save money on the office visit charge. I have to say also that I buy all my food from Foster and Smith. I have 12 Yorkies and they all do very well on it, no bad reactions at all. :aimeeyork :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :)

My friend is a vet tech she would give them thier shots. What are the first three shots?

you have to look at your puppies records from the vet and see which vaccine combo she gave. then you'll know what the puppies need.

edit: also i'm not sure if you can buy just one vaccine. alot of times they come in packs.

Well the breeder gave the shots so I just emailed her. You can purchase singles in the one I posted and they do sell singles in some of the other ones but they are on backorder right now.

just bring your puppy to the vet. its so much easier. its his last distemper. then you can go back in a few weeks and get the rabies. And then go back once more at 6 months to get spayed. you can even do the rabies at 6 months with the spay to save you a trip. after that your dog only needs to go once a year unless something is wrong.

WTH????? Im not going to do anything without asking first. My best friend is a vet tech and I consult with her one a regular basis, but IM JUST ASKING!!!!!!! I feel like that was an ATTACKED JMO. Why do you think I ask before I did anything (because Im trying to do what is in the best intrest), Im learning here only my first yorkie. I though that was why most of us were here to learn. I am VERY OFFENDED. Now I am very open and can take other people opinions into consideration, but I think that was just PURE RUDE!!!!! Who pi**ed in your cheerios mryorkiecrazy. You know it probly would not have been so bad, but the disclaimer it what really ticked me off. I feel like Ive done something wrong by asking!!!

I understand where you're coming from but please don't be offended. We all love our babies here and want to do what's best for them. He was simply stating his personal opinion about what he thought would be BEST for your baby. That's what he meant by his disclaimer.

I understad that everyone cares. If I didnt care then I would not have ask. Im sorry I just took it personal. Im not usually like that. I am very open to opinions and can usually take critisim. But I feel like it was just way rude, when Im here trying to learn because I CARE ALSO, I think most of us are here to learn, not to be writing up theit own frekin disclaimer. Im trying to do the best for my puppy!!!

Mryorkiecrazy your not giving me the benefit of the doubt. Im trying to do the right thing and ask before hand. You talking around me like Im not even here in the above post?? Whats that about. I think I would have been fine with the comment if you hadnt added the disclaimer, I just dont get the disclaimer, was it written just for me because this is a first time Ive ever seen it???
