Ordering shots from Dr.'s Foster and Smith? I was gonna order my shots from this website. Izzy only needs one more shot plus rabies. I was gonna order the 7 Way Vaccines Plus Coronavirus Protects against canine distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus cough, parainfluenza, parvovirus, coronavirus, and leptospirosis. The distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus cough, parainfluenza, and parvovirus are modified live. Give subcutaneously. Is this what I need, if not please tell me what to order? I have 3 dogs Im ordering for. |

Since your dog only needs one more puppy shot, you need to know what they have received so far. Who gave them their other shots, the vet or breeder? If you give them something they have not gotten yet, it won't do any good with just one shot. Also, have you ever given shots before? If not, maybe you should use the vet since you have to go anyway for the rabies. You could take all 3 at once to save money on the office visit charge. I have to say also that I buy all my food from Foster and Smith. I have 12 Yorkies and they all do very well on it, no bad reactions at all. :aimeeyork :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :) |
My friend is a vet tech she would give them thier shots. What are the first three shots? |

edit: also i'm not sure if you can buy just one vaccine. alot of times they come in packs. |
************************************************** ******************************* DISCLAIMER: This is my idea/concept/opinion. It is NOT a put down, sarcasm, etc. directed towards/to ANYONE. That said, I have noticed a great deal of YT member restraint due to the likelihood of receiving sarcasm for stating an unpopular idea/concept/opinion. More is the reason for posting this idea/concept/opinion. Sort of a devil's advocate kind of thing. So........... ************************************************** ******************************* Okay, if you don't know what you're doing, please, for the dog's sake, don't do anything. This is NOT meant to be mean. The intentions of this response is purely for your puppy's benefit. |
Well the breeder gave the shots so I just emailed her. You can purchase singles in the one I posted and they do sell singles in some of the other ones but they are on backorder right now. |
just bring your puppy to the vet. its so much easier. its his last distemper. then you can go back in a few weeks and get the rabies. And then go back once more at 6 months to get spayed. you can even do the rabies at 6 months with the spay to save you a trip. after that your dog only needs to go once a year unless something is wrong. |

[QUOTE=MrYorkiecrazy;1796904]Thank you for reading my response in the spirit it was intended. Truly, my concerns are in the puppy's best interest.[/QUO Mryorkiecrazy your not giving me the benefit of the doubt. Im trying to do the right thing and ask before hand. You talking around me like Im not even here in the above post?? Whats that about. I think I would have been fine with the comment if you hadnt added the disclaimer, I just dont get the disclaimer, was it written just for me because this is a first time Ive ever seen it??? |

Yes, as it turns out. The disclaimer was intended directly to you. Reread it and you'll understand why. It was written and used weeks before today, but you choose to ignore it entirely. Please, reread it. Take a moment to understand it. I don't know you, therefore you have no grounds to take offense to WHATEVER I say to you unless you WANT to. Be that as it may - My interests are in your puppy's well being. Do you think that posting questions on the internet is going to make you qualified to purchase and administer injections to your little puppy? Even if your questions were answered by certified veterinarians, the answer is no. Again, I urge you to do the right thing. If you still don't understand the nature and intention of this post, if I still offend you, then feel free to add me to your ignore list. I can handle it and it would be in the best interests to us and YT. (only 7 days to the Houston area Yorkie meetup!) |

I do apprecite it! Thank You!! |
My archie did just finish his shots and he was never given the lepto or the corona by the vet, she thought they were not necessary and could be harmful. I think the rabies though has to be given by a vet since I tried to schedule the appointment with just the vet technician and they told me that by law(at least in Virginia) the rabies shot must be administered by a licensed vet. Hope this helps! |

Same way here you have to go to the vet to get the rabies. Thanks for your kind input. I really appreciate it;) |

I created the disclaimer because of reactions such as yours. I saw how some innocent and well meaning responses weren't taken well by others. Well, my posts tend to illicit this kind of response more so than others. I'm not sure why, but it is a flaw and a liability. It's why I created the disclaimer. But I believe this is the first time the disclaimer itself caused this reaction. I can't win. For the record, I never get a rise from anyone at the motorcycle forum. Come to think of it, I don't usually get any response, either. (only 6 days to the Houston area Yorkie meetup!) |

LOL, I would never have had a reaction without the disclaimer:yelrotflm . And when you stated in the earlier post that I chose to overlook it, I thought it had been in another post of mine:confused: . I didnt post in the particular thread where the disclaimer was originally quoted, so there is no way I could choose to ignore:confused: . Can you please explain how it is a liability. Are you a lawyer lol? Even thought you ticked me off you still have beautiful dogs. have fun at the Houston meetup. ;) |
