I have decided... I am not going to take the male puppy that I saw today :( After speaking with my mom and really thinking about everything going on its just not the right time... My main concern from the beginning was Sammi's reaction...I paid alot of attention to Kasey tonight (my mom's maltese) and Sammi wasnt very happy with that...So it was kinda like my test...When I would hold Kasey then put him down she would go over and pounce on him then jump up on my lap...She was acting weird...She growled at him alot, she even scratched his nose!! Very unlike her... The other reason was, my dad just started his new treatment for his Kidney Cancer...So it makes him very weak and tired...Right now Kasey and Sammi are VERY well behaved during the day (usually do not bark unless they hear something, they sleep all day, etc) so I am worried if I bring a puppy home it might disrupt the peace during the day...And he does need rest...So I must consider him also... Of course it was very tough especially considering I spent 45 mins with him today (imagine in 45 mins that little guy getting to me!!) but I do think it was the right decision for now... I know one day I will have another Yorkie that will bring me as much love and joy as Sammi does :) Thank you for all your well wishes...I will save them all for next time!! Lots of Love and Hugs! That's so considerate of you with your dad - it must have been a hard decision to make but it IS a big change getting a puppy - you can still dream and one day will be the right time - I bet Sammi would actually get used to a new baby ...it took Chanel about 2 months but they do adjust - lol...I'm sorry ...I'm not helping here am I ??? You're right...Sammi's nose would be bent ! |
Sounds like you are making the right decision Fran! I am so glad you have put so much consideration into this! I have noticed how many people lately have come on trying to sell/get rid of their Yorkies bc of lifestyle or young children and it really just breaks my heart! |
I can tell you are a smart, wise and caring person. You made the right decision. When the time is right, you will know. :) |

You made a very wise decision! Such a selfless act!!! To know in yourheart it wasn't the right time and to put the new puppy's needs 1st as well as Sammi and your father. I will pray for you sweetie and your Dad! But hopefully after all is well. you can then dedicate your time and attention to a new baby! And I truly believe that Sammi will adjust just fine!! |
