Everything happens for a reason. I am glad you took this decision and I am touched to hear how considerate you are of your father! That can't be easy since cancer is tough on every family member and everyone has to give up a lot during the period where the cancer torments the family. Thank you for making such a wise and caring decision, I am sure you won't regret it. And the right puppy is out there for you. Not born yet, but waiting at rainbow bridge to be born into your arms :) |
Following your heart will always lead you in the right direction and it sounds like that's what you did for all concerned. You can't make the timing right if it isn't and you were wise to see it wasn't. Best wishes to your family in the days ahead our thoughts and prayers will be with you. |
Fran, I'm sorry you won't be getting the pup but there will be time later for that. I know it was a very hard decision to make. My heart goes out to you. But you should be there for your dad at a time like this. Keep us posted on how he is. You made a wise decision. Sounds like your dad has a very special daughter. |
You are doing a very special thing. One that will mean a lot to your dad, as well as your dogs. I for one am very proud of your mature and heart felt decision. |
My husband has had cancer 9 years. I bought my yorkies when it became clear to me our dreams of travel would not be a reality and I thought a puppy would be a good company for both of us. What a great decision. Chloe will lay in bed side by side with him and just be there. She was such a great dog, we got Lacey, another bundle of joy. The poster who said you will know when the time is right is correct, you will. It was a thoughtful, unselfish thing to do and I know it was hard. I want another yorkie but I know it isn't a good time for me now. Someday I will have another one. My daughter wants to know if I'll be one of those ladies who live alone with 20 dogs. Who knows.. |
Bless your heart. It's tough, but you made the decision that I am sure will benefit your circumstances for now. The new puppy that gets you as a mom is one lucky dog indeed. My prayers go out to you and your family (especially Dad) for a speedy and complete recovery! |
