It definitely works. Bella was 12 weeks old when we got her and just a few days after we'd brought her home she was on floor with a chew treat and I came up to her and went to pet her on the head and she growled and snapped at me. I was so shocked (I've had several dogs and have NEVER had a dog even growl at me much less snap at me). Well I bopped her on the head, it wasn't hard at all and it wasn't a consious act, it was completely reactive. It happened so fast I just reacted out of shock. Yes, they are our babies but they are dogs too and must know their place in the home just as they know their place in a pack in the wild.

Hi!

I was just wondering if you had ever had Tilly spayed. If not, is she getting ready to come in heat? Just a thought!

Chewy has started to get a little nippy too... he is a year and a half. he will decide every so oftn he doesn't like someone!:eek: :eek: he is either home or in the car when he does this.... The book the loved dog says to give the person they dont like a treat to WIN THEM OVER... i thought it sounded crazy and it worked like a charm!!!

Also Chewy has always tried to bully my son (Mike is 23 years old and was in college last year so chewy didn't see much of him) he was very nippy not long ago with Mike. So Mike stuck him in the bathroom for like 3 min...went to let him out in a sweet voice...bit again!!! Back to the bathroom... for about 4 tries. Finally when Mike opened the door...out came a very humbly loveable chewy!!! It took a few tries but he realized Mike was no push over and he gave kisses.;)

Could she not be feeling good or hurting? I have seen ours get agressive when they are hurting.

I have also seen some of this behavior with mine when they dont get enough exercise......like really cold or rainy weeks.

Hope you find out what is bothering Tilly.

Yeah we got Tilly spayed back last September. I think it's just she didn't get out much this week.

She seems to feel fine. Not overly tired or anything. I can always tell when she doesn't feel good. She is really sleepy. I think she needs to go for a good walk tomorrow. I'll probably see a world of difference.

We got our Tiffanie spayed too in Sept and she did the same thing as U're baby...She got so hateful with ALL our yorkies at the time we had 7 and 3 of them was her own babies, none of them could play with her around or even walk by her without her snappin' at them, one would get a toy and start to play with another one and she'd be right there all hateful, when we petted any of our other Yorkies' then here she'd come to snap at them as soon as they walked away or got out of our laps, then she started growlin' at our granddaughter who was 22 months old and I ended up rehoming her with my Cousin in Ohio, now she's the sweetest Yorkie U ever seen, I think she just needed to be in a home alone (No kids there, just older grandchildren visits and she loves them to death! and no other animals there) with a slower paced life...To many here with her was to hard on her, I think it was her nerves??? It was a hard choice for me to make but I wanted her happy not hateful, and I didn't want our other babies unhappy either. I feel we made the right choice for her. She was only 3 and now she can live the rest of her life out peacefully and happy and ALONE! LOL! Hope this may help U some how.

I'm sorry to hear you had to rehome your baby. I don't think I could rehome Tilly. I'm very attached to her and I'm really afraid she would grieve. I can barely leave her anywhere outside of home without her having a fit (she has separation anxiety). I think I would have to fork out thousands of dollars first in training before I'd do this. :D Tilly is the only furbaby here and I do have a 13 month old. He never shows interest in her so I don't think he is making her nervous. I'm hoping getting her out of the house a little bit tomorrow will help. Thanks so much for your advice. :)

I know it was hard on me to make the choice and I thought for sure Tif would throw a fit and grieve too, we got Teddy 1st @ 6 weeks old and then Tif right after him she was 7 weeks old and she had never been away from us until we had her spaded and always with Teddy then her babies she had and our children. But I have to say I feel it was the best thing for her she is a totally different Yorkie now. Yes I cried and yes I miss her. I hope walking her will help her.
