They can be a bit extremist, but lets keep in mind that the organization cannot be held responsible for all actions of their participants...and at the end they DO help animals everywhere... |

do you guys think its ok to send the same message to all of them?? i thought my first one was really good and hit the nail on the head. |
I just sent mine out...here it is. Dear representatives of WTMX: While listening to your radio station the other day, I was shocked to hear an advertisement for Petland pet store. I have always been an avid listener to your station and I was very disappointed to hear Petland being supported. I am hoping that those in charge of deciding the advertising content on WTMX are unaware of the practices of Petland and that accounts for the stations support. Hopefully your station would not knowingly endorse a store that inflicts abuse and neglect on countless dogs each year. Just to paint a picture for you of the practices of Petland, here are a few facts. Petland is one of the largest buyers of dogs from puppymills in the United States. The practices of these puppymills are deplorable and include, starvation, malnutrition, and lack of medical care. Puppymills house rows upon rows of small cages, each of which hold 2 or more female breeding dogs. These dogs give birth to litters non-stop and are never cared for. Many are forced to sleep in their own waste and eventually die of infection. Many have severe medical problems such as collars that are too tight and grow into their necks. The puppies that these sad dogs produce are almost always infested with fleas, ticks and worms. They are often sick and underfed. These dogs are being shipped to Petland and sold to unsuspecting customers who think they are buying a healthy dog from a reputable store. Many times these puppies require a lot of medical treatment from their new owners, and some die before they reach adulthood. Now that you know about the practices of Petland, I, along with many other animal lovers in your listening audience, hope that WTMX pulls the Petland advertisements from their programming. I would hope that WTMX wants to be known as a station that supports animal rights. I am attaching a picture below of Hope, a female Maltese who was rescued from a puppymill such as those who sell to Petland. Please look at her sad face and emaciated body and decide if this where your station's support should lie. Sincerely, Holly Fleger |

I just wanted to know if anyone in the WTMX radio station area has heard the Petland commercial again since we started pouring our letters in?? |
Just sent mine to all three. Dana |
ok here is the one i'm sending. While listening to your station, I heard an ad for Petland. Before I go any further, I want you to know that I am not associatiad with PETA at all. I am just a concerned citizen. I want you to know that Petland is the BIGGEST supporter of puppymills. If the thought of an animal being locked in a small cage, laying on wire, being forced to breed over and over again until it kills them, brings you joy then fine. I think it is one of the cruelst things in the world. Most of the puppies sold in pet stores, like Petland, die in the next few months. I happen to know this from expierance. By advertising for them, you are supporting the puppy mills, and helping with this cruel torture. If you continue to place ads for Petland, or any other petstore then I will find a new radio station to listen to. I am sorry if I sound mean, and I don't want to sound like this, but these animals did nothing wrong. I suggest you try visiting millbusters.com or stoppuppymills.com if you want real proof. I just recently became as passionate about this subject as I am. Thank you for spending the time to read this, I have nothing against you, but the idea that you are helping to support these places really upsets me. Thank you. From, Megan i don't know about you, but i don't think its that bad for a 12 year old.... |
