Do they look like they would make cute brother and sister? I need advice 2 Attachment(s) I saw a newspaper ad a week ago about a couple wanting to rehome a 7-month-old yorkie girl because they feel like they don't spend enough time with her and on top of that the wife is pregnant. She's AKC and UTD on all shots and from a reputable breeder in the area (according to the owners). I've been wanting to adopt a sister for cocoster (he's 1.5 yrs old) for some time because I don't want him to grow up as an only furbaby. I even bought clothes for her already (how can I resist? ) BUT today I received most recent pictures of the little girl and she looks so grown up! Now I'm torn because I cherished every mimute of cocoster's puppyhood and I won't have that with the girl. :( Am I being stupid? First picture is cocoster and the second ones are of the girl. Do they make cute sister and brother? Did anyone adopt an older puppy and feel sad about missing their puppyhood? |
She is really, really pretty. Ranger is 7mo and I still consider him such a puppy! It's actually almost funner now than when he was smaller because he is much heartier and can play for long times and go for long walks and go to petstores and all that fun stuff. He's also (dare I say it- it might go away??) potty trained! She is just adorable! I can't wait to hear what you decide, they would look so cute together. What a v-day present for him! |
She still looks like a puppy to me :) I think they look great together! |
I say go get her, 7 months is such a fun age and shes not that much younger than your lil guy. |
I say go for it .she really is pretty.and besides they are still very playful at that age. I got an much older girl(5yr) and I love it, she is a cuddle bug, loyal and loves the heck outta meeeee;) |
Do it! We got Osbourne when he was 6 months and I think that was a good age for introducing him to our other one. They still act like a puppy at that age. The only thing is we don't really have any younger picture of him, not a big deal, but I sometimes wonder how he looked. |
Aww she is adorable!!! I would get her <3 |
I say go for it. She is so cute and 7 months is still in that puppy stage. |
I think they look great as brother and sister! But I will say this... I got Bella when she was 10 weeks old (she is a poodle mix), and I got Harley at 4 years old, and to be honest, I will never have the connection with Harley that I have with Bella. I know that sounds harsh, and mean, but I'm being honest. I think if Harley was a puppy when I got him, it would have been different. I don't know how to explain it. Put it this way, I can clean Bella's poopy butt or nasty eye crusties and not get grossed out at all. But I get grossed out with Harley, even though I love him to death and would do anything for him! Its more of a sub-concious thing maybe, I don't know. Kinda like your skin-kid can get sick and you have no problem cleaning it up or taking care of them, but if it were someone else's kid, it is a different story! It doesn't mean you don't care, because I love Harley sooo much and would do anything for him. I don't know. :questione |
Aww she is so cute, I say go for it:) she is still a puppy:) |
I say get her , how could you pass up that adorable little face, just look at her she is too precious. Our first yorkie Kenji was a year old when we got him and in a way a rescue . Kenji and I shared that special connection for whatever the reason. Our second yorkie Kassie was 9 weeks old when we brought her home and while I love her to bits that same connection isnt as strong. I hope that makes sense it is hard to explain . Maybe it is more than Kenji fit my personality better. Good Luck with your decision. Sorry for rambling I just wanted you to see another point of view. |
Yes, I have gotten yorkies at 2 years old, in fact three of them, I loved them as much as any I have gotten as a puppy.... Yes to getting her.. I think they would look so sweet together... and 7 months is not old, my goodness she is still a baby, some people do not let them go until they are at least 4/5 months anyway.. so what to heck... If you get her let us know on this thread... gee I have a hard time keeping up when a new thread is started... not always but I am not the greatest neither... |
I would get her. She is a cutie and they make a great match. I got Pixie at 13 months and loved it. I have a 4 month old I just got and I prefer them a little older. I think 7 months is a great age. |

I say go and get her. She is a cutie & all she needs is a brother to put a smile in that lovely face & maybe a nice puppy cut! She is adorable. |

What a cutie! Go for it. They'd be darling together. :) |

SO adorable She is So Pretty ... you should Follow Your Heart ( and I heard it say Get Her!) he and Coco will become Fast friends |
She is so adorable! I love that little face! Go for it and have sooo much fun with them....:D |
They would be absolutely adorable together. |
Thanks everyone for your encouraging words. :) and thanks for sharing your personal experiences. I really appreciate your honest opinions on this. I'm going to see her on Saturday with Cocoster. I'm really hoping they hit it off!! ANOTHER QUESTION: ok, this might seem like a stupid question, but I'm clueless. How much is fair price for her? According to the owners she is 7 months old, a little over 2 lbs, not expected to be over 3 lbs, not spayed yet. PLEASE let me know what you think! |
I do not know about the fair price question but she is a cutie. Seth and Sasha were puppies when we got them and I think I could have skipped the potty training  |

I think she is really pretty and would be a great addition PLUS 7 months is still a baby. |
I rescued my Rickles when he was 3 1/2 years old and there are times I wonder what he was like when he was a baby and I really wish I had gotten him sooner before he was so mistreated but I couldn't love him more if I had of had him since the day he was born. We have a wonderful bond and I love him more than anything. If you really want the little girl I say get her, she still has some puppy left in her and I bet before long you won't know what you did without her. Joyce Ann |
Ginger is almost 7 mos. and looks just like that, looks like it could be her sister(LOL)..how much does she weigh? I think maybe the picture of her makes her look bigger than she is.. anyway, 7 mos. is still a small puppy, I'm actually wanting Ginger to hurry and get to a year old..go for it...:) |

I have adopted an older dog, he was not a yorkie but when I got him he was six. It was great he was potty and obedience trained and I do have to say he is about perfect and we bonded very quickly. I did not miss the late nights and the potty training O and the chewing. |
