Please HELP!! Yorkie Puppy!!
 
Please help! My husband and I bought a Yorkie puppy saturday night! Cutest thing ever! And now people are asking if he is a full blooded Yorkie! Not that it matter because we already love him, but for the cost we paid for him it does matter!

We did get papers on him, we saw the mom and her papers and we saw the dad's papers but not the dad. He's a round little butterball, but the lady said that she free fed him so that could be it. He's 11 weeks and 7 pounds, but has the roundest belly ever! I have pics, but I'm not sure how to upload them! I could email them to anyone who is willing to help me!

I don't know how to tell you to load the pictures, but wanted to welcome you to YT! Someone here will be able to help you. If he is full Yorkie, sounds like you have a teapot on your hands! I bet he's cute as he can be.

And yes we took him to the vet but the tech must have been new b/c she was like he weighs 14 pounds...and the vet was like uh no do it again and he was 7!

i can't tell you for sure w/o seeing the pics, but: there are some Yorkies that grow over the standard (AKC standard is 4-7 lbs) they are "throwbacks" since they used to be bred to be much bigger than they are now-a-days...

now as for uploading pics: when you are replying scroll down and you'll see a button that says "manage attachments" click on that, and a window will pop up where you can upload your pictures, when you are done uploading just close that window and post your reply, TA-DA! your pics should appear at the bottom of your reply on the forum :D [the way you know they uploaded correctly is by scrolling down to the manage attachment portion of the page, and the file names should be listed]

I don't know what you paid, but unless you plan on showing, I don't think it will matter much. You will fall in love with her all the same! Just for you piece of mind I hope you find out! Good Luck!:animal36

He looks like a yorkie to me hes just gonna be a bigger one. One of mine is 11 lbs

I think he looks like a yorkie. He is a big boy though! You may find you like the "teapot" size, I think they have a little less health problems than the tinies, and they are heartier, meaning you don't have to worry about them quite as much. Sometimes I wish Ranger was a couple lbs bigger because he plays so rough!!!

as you'll come to find out there isn't a specific "Yorkie look" all our babies look different, and (for the most part) they are all yorkie...

Belle isn't quite a teapot, but she's also not standard, i like her size cuz she can play a little rough and jump around, and i'm not afraid she's going to break... she's pretty sturdy at 8lbs...

once again congrats on your baby...and no matter what he is i'm sure you'll love him nonetheless :D

your baby is cute and i think he looks like a yorkie! he may be bigger but bigger yorkies are just as cute as any other size ;) :D

Thanks everyone! We will love him nonetheless, but I was just checking since he does have papers and if we ever bred him I wouldn't want to accidently be dishonest! But we do love him, he's sweet!! Except when he's play biting and growling! It kinda hurts!

Just remember that now-a-days most ppl that do not own yorkies believe them to all be tiny little purse carrier dogs. So someone questioning a larger yorkie i wouldn't trip on. A lot of ppl that I have ran into think of yorkies as accessories not as a standard pet. Who cares just as long as you love them just the same. He is a big boy but he's a cutie..

im not sure how you are handling the nibbling, but what i did was just simulate the "bite" of another dog, (their furmom) with your hand on the neck, gently but it made her stop, also saying "no bite"

yorkies and silkies look a lot alike until they get a little older..My oldest yorkie is 14 lbs. but, at 12 weeks, she was only 2 lbs 6 oz, so, you just never know how big they're going to get. sometimes they grow very fast, then slow down tremendously, other times they're like my big one and grow noraml and then all of a sudden take off and keep growing and growing..but, your baby is precious, and you love him, and that's all that matters...but, yet, I know where you're coming from on the money..if you expect to get what you pay for..

thank you for the tip...yeah he's a little biter which I'm glad he's playing and looking healthy, but wow it hurts! And he gets so wound up! But yeah I want to curb that behavior now while he's only my 7 pound 11 week yorkie!

He is darling!!! He does seem pretty big for a 11 week old pup, but, there is just more of him to love and you'll get bigger kisses!!!!
