Now what do I do - stupid husband alert. My dh can't let ANYONE in his life go without a nickname, He is currently calling Adie Buzz Buzz but his usual nickname for her is Dinky. Now that we are getting Skeeter (Adie's 1/2 brother - now 5 days old) he has decided that he has to come up with a nickname for him! He has, unfortunately latched on to the name Doinky to go with Dinky. Sigh. The really bad news is that the dogs actually respond to his nicknames. Adie is sometimes Nummy Stubs while Cassie is most frequently called "Box of Rocks". I admit she isn't the brightest dog in the world but she is the sweetest. Ivan is called Ives and Moose. Which aren't as bad given his 112lb frame. He used to call our basset Bucket Head!!!!!!! Does anyone else have to put up with this crap? </IMG> |

Some men just have to give them his own names. He is not doing it hatefully is he? At least he is letting you get and keep them all. That is saying more about him then anything. Keep you chin up. He does love them too. Naming them funny names is his way of showing he cares for these little guys in a manly way. LOL |
Its funny cause its the other way around over here.....I'm the one that calls Bailey nicknames and my hubby calls Bailey by his name...but like the other YTer says don't beat him up about it...;) |
I'm sorry I can't get past this....this is hilarious. Cassie we love ya.;) :lol tears :lol tears :lol tears :lol tears Quote:

:lol tears @ Doinky & Dinky, Sorry I can't help it! At my house I'm the one always coming up with the nicknames for the furbabies. I refer to them as The Poopies, Rocky is The Master Poopie while Bella is Baby Poopie, also Poopie Boy and Poopie Girl, Poopsters, pretty much anything with poopie in it, and I have no idea why I started this either or even remember when I started it! I'm assuming it was before Rocky was potty trained though :p I also sing random songs about them, like I'll take a song and change all the words up to match Rocky or Bella, they love it, but I'm sure my fiance gets annoyed. |
Yep, all the time. It ANNOYS the mess out of me! He calls Cash, my male, Lee-Harvey, and Lucy, Ding-ding, like she is stupid. Sometimes he calls her Chrissy (like dumb blond from Who's Company) and he has named several puppies just the stupidest names that sound so absolutely awful. Oh, and to top it off, he now has his four year old son calling them the same thing! I really try to just ignore it-if not, it only gets worse!! Laura Quote:

My boyfriend calles T-bone "Boner" |
LOL I'm sorry but these are hilarious! I'm sure it's annoying since you live with it. My dad called my rabbit LUNCH. My son named his grandmother Datin (we dunno why) so we started calling grandpa Dissin He probably does it more just to irritate you! (((hugs))) Call him something embarrassing in jest and see if he quits. But I think you'd have to do it in front of his buddy or something. |
Tricksie has a lot of nicknames and comes to all of them. Rod calls her Poopit. |

bwahahahahahaha! sorry that's funny! hey, we're neighbors :) |
People call my babies "bear bait." |
When we decided to bring another puppy in our home, after living with out for a long time. (at least it seemed a long time to me), one of the first things I made him promise was not to rename the puppy. That does not keep him from callling her his 4.5 lb killer. |

My hubby had a lab because he wanted a big man dog to sit with him in his truck. He got a lab lap dog, he would sit on his lap in the truck LMAO sorry I'm hijacking the thread. |

I am guilty of hijacking too. Where's the YT cuffs?:D |
OMGosh!!!!!!!! I cannot believe that someone else's DH does this too!!!! lol I thought mine was the only one!!! My DH takes it a step further....he makes up rhymes!!! It all started when we were picking out names for our son. Every name I would pick out he would "test it" to see if he could think of a rhyme for it. He said, kids are sooooo cruel ....you need to make sure you don't pick a name that the kids can make fun of. Ohhhhhh....my DH would of had a hay day with Dinky (Dinky, Dinky is a stinky!!!! lol) You can imagine what he did when I wanted to name our son Tucker (Tucker, Tucker is a ........)   !!!! He comes up with some funny stuff!!! Our poor Buddy has so many nick names: Buddyrow, Buddyboo, Budrow, Budlite, Lil' it (for little chit), PIB (for pain in butt), the list goes on & on!!!! lol Glad to hear someone else's DH is as crazy as mine!!!! lol |
LOL your dh sounds like me!!! I had to do the rhyme game too picking out names |
My dad doesn't ever call Tucker by his real name. He doesn't have actual nicknames, he just says whatever the heck comes to his mind! He's gotten better at narrowing it down now. He mainly calls Tucker Elvis (Tucker does this thing with his lip that makes him look like Elvis). My dad had names for all the animals. For our cat Smokey, he called him Toof Toof, Smoke Stack, etc. Muffin (other cat) was Puff Puff. Maddie...he had a ton of names for Maddie. But he called her "Madowine" a lot haha. I don't think he ever called Rusty Rusty. He always called him Stanly, Rufus, Deadly, etc. haha. and while my cousin and her hubby were babysitting Tucker for us, her hubby (Ed) called him...well....replace the T with an F. Sooo bad lol. |

My husband does, too! He calls Mazey - Lulu, Travers - George, Maija - Chunkers, and luckily he calls the others their regular names, at least for now! LOL |

But I think I'd hurt him if he called my babied "Dinky and Doinky" lol:lol tears |
At least he's not calling YOU Dinky! :D |
HAHAHAHA my hubby does the exact same thing!! :D :D |
LOL Hubbys:) Mine is the same way, he has his own little nickname for all my babies..And to think he never wanted a dog:rolleyes: Hummmm:p |
My hubby calls my lab and golden Ding and Dong, and yes, they respond to it as well. He has a whole mess of names for Ranger, I think it's kinda cute cuz he loves em so much! I have to ask, what is "dh"??? I can't for the life of my figure it out, unless it means "dumb husband"????? Is that what it means? |
