Pitt Bull Attacked Chloe...
 

So at the dog park today a Pitt Bull jumped the Big Dog fence and ran after a pug. My little Chloe decided to be the hero. She bit the Pitt Bull on the leg and the Pitt Bull let go of the Pug and then proceeded to run after Chloe. Luckily I was already running to the scene. I kicked the Pitt Bull in the face and he ran after me and luckily a lady next to me threw a garbage can at I'm and I kicked him again hard enough to KO him. The owner came running at me and the police where called ON ME by the owner. Needless to say the dog was confiscated by animal control and the owner was fined. Me and the other lady where not charged with anything and the poor little pug needed to goto the emergency room, I dunno how he is but he was bit pretty bad. From what I know the lady who owns the Pitt Bull is a regular and she is a well know and respected breeder and her dog just went crazy for some reason. I'm so glad Chloe didn't get hurt at all, she is all of 5lbs and that Pitt Bull was huge.

I'm sick of the ignorance on this breed. Pitt Bulls need to be banned.

I'm sorry that that happened to you and feel so bad for the pug and thank goodness Chloe wasn't hurt!

I don't agree in breed legislation, but wish that owners had to be screened for competance before they were allowed to own certain powerful breeds.

It's really scary how a dog can turn in a split second it seems :(

There was a lady down the street from me that was killed by a Pitt Bull just recently. They scare the living crap out of me. I don't think Chloe will be going to the dog park anytime soon.

There are a lot of dogs that run loose at our "dog friendly" park even though it's not an off leash park.

It definitely freaks me out as well. It's surprising how many owners stand by and do nothing while their dogs are acting aggressively :thumbdown

I don't blame you for not wanting to go back to the dog park for awhile, I don't think I would either :(

OMGGGGGGGG I am so happy everything turned out okay for the most part. You know I seen a video on here last night of a Pit attacking a Pekanease, I think thats what the dog was, and I am still traumatized about it. The poor baby died and you pretty much see it all, its SICKING. Just like them a perfect day gone bad, I am soo sorry I have tears in my eyes... People just don't get it I know Pits that are wonderful dogs but it doesn't MATTER, they have an animal instinct in them that needs to be watched like a HAWK. So how is your baby, is he still in the hospital or did you get to bring him home. I am so sorry you had to go through this really I am! This is why I rather my dog be socialized in a controlled environment then at a dog park, I just don't trust anyone around him. :(


Oh sorry I re read your post, it WASN'T your pug...okay sorry about that. Well it sounds like your princess need an award for saving its life!!

The Pug belonged to some lady, I dunno how he is doing. He's always at the doggy park so its very sad to see him hurt. Chloe was very upset. She was going nuts and was in attack mode. It was really courageous of her she totally bolted towards the Pitt once he ran after the Pug who she plays with frequently. I'm just glad for the most part everyone is ok.

Ah I seen that you posted in there... I would have went APE SH*T on that dog I couldn't imagine being in that situation... not at all.

Totally agree with you! I wouldnt want to come back to that park at all! I hate to see that there are irresponsible owners who have pitbulls. If you have a pitbull you better watch that dog especially if you take the dog to the park. I think it should be two different playgrounds for dogs. One fenced space for big dogs on one side of the park and smaller space for small dogs on the other side of the park. Maybe that would prevent those kind of situations.

I am so glad you little cloe wasnt hurt , it must have scared the daylights out of you. You sound like one brave lady to have gone at the pitbull like you did. Hopefully the other dog will be okay too.

I am so glad Chloe is ok and the little pug is in my prayers.

I just do not trust those pit bulls they can go crazy and I do not see why people seem to think those dogs are such sweet dogs. I know there are probably some good ones but I will never be around those crazy dogs nor the Neapolitan Mastiff and some of you know we used to raise them they can go whacko as well despite what some breeders say. All I will add to this is remember our Molly who was murdered by a dog that was in the bully group. :(

"GOOD FOR YOU and CHLOE", and thank goodness Chloe didn't get injured. These little YT's are so brave, but really have not much to back it up. I hope that the pug comes thru, but it could have been worse, if not for you and the lady. I can't believe the owner calling the police on 'you', but thank goodness she did, for 'your' sake!

Jilli was attacked by a Rotty once, who pinned her to the ground with his paws and was trying to get at her just as I pulled him away... what we tiny dog people have to watch is not only the aggressive acting dogs, but (as in this Rotty case) some dogs sit there quietly on the leash, then suddenly, quietly lunge for the little ones... I think that sometimes even a sweet, gentle lab can grab a tiny dog thinking they are a squirrel... Even Jilli chases squirrles, thank goodness for her, she never catches them! Chloe is such a hero! what a brave little girl she was. i'm so glad she's okay and i hope the pug recovers. and if he does recover, he has chloe to thank! i can't believe she called the police on YOU. i don't care if she's a reputable breeder. she needs to own up to what her dog did! :mad:

I am glad Chloe is okay that sure had to be a big scare. I am scared to death of pitbulls. I am sure there are some that are wonderful pets I just dont trust them

any dog can attack they are animals they don't know any better the owners do and should be responsible!!

Not everyone may agree but where we live Pit Bulls are required to be neutered and must be muzzled. Breeding them is illegal. There have been many deaths and horrible injuries due to the breed. They scare the heck out of me too.

Wow you are a hero!!! Kicking the dog in the face!!! Good for you to protect your baby and if you and chloe didn't intervene who knows where that poor pug would be now!!! (Rainbow bridge more then likely)

When dogs come charging at me and my baby while we are walking I get so mad... I grab chewy up and start storming toward them... I yell at them to get outta here... They always stop dead in their tracks and look like I slapped them!:eek: I hate when dogs come flying up no tail wagging and barking like crazy... It drives me nuts that people can just let their dogs do this.

:mad: And then some times the owners are there... and they just stand there yelling it's ok, they are friendly, and won't hurt your dog... I got mad at my neighbor, he was right there... and his dog came charging... not wagging his tail, he was mean looking and I grabbed Chewy and then the dumb dog was following me and trying to get at chewy... I'm like, can you PLEASE call your dog. He is like, its really ok. I said NO IT'S NOT OK...Get your dog away from me PLEASE... He couldn't even get his dog, not that he was trying very hard... walking so slow, like ho hum I'll get him sooner or later!!! I had to walk toward the guy with his dog following me!!! HUH.... I hate it.

Chloe's a hero! So glad she wasn't injuried and hope her puggie friend is okay too. Good for you for being proactive....sorry I'd hit, kick, throw whatever was handy too.

Our dog park doesn't even have a seperate little dog side...there are always big dogs there so I don't take Ramsey or Reese. I'd say at least that pitt should be banned from the park.

My neighbor's yorkie was in her backyard and the two rotties from next door dug under the fence and killed her. :(

I don't think you can defend any dog that takes blantent actions such as jumping or digging under a fence to attack another dog....

So glad to hear Chloe and you werent hurt poor pug.

OMG...How scary for you both, so happy you are ok, I agree with everyone else, Pitbulls are very dangerous.

I am so glad that you and Chloe are okay i know how scary that must have been :( i had a female rottie jump into my front door and go after my Chiquita my she R.I.P i actually put my hands in the rottie's mouth and got him off of her but then of course i was stuck with my hands in it's mouth but no biggie nothing that wouldn't heal in a couple weeks. Chiquita was slung around like a rag doll before i got her out of the rottie's mouth and she recovered just fine so hopefully that poor little pug will be just fine :) ( at least i pray it will be). Then a year later my cousin got a rottie and i was terrified to go near it at first but then i seen how sweet and loving she was and it got to where i was getting down on the floor rolling around with her and laying my head on hers she was a total sweet heart may she also R.I.P so that proved to me it isn't the breed itself because you can have one attack you in a sec that wants to kill you and the other just wants to lick you to death! Also my neighbors from down the street have a pit bull that is so sweet and loving he is 8 years old and never once even tried to bite or attack anyone well okay maybe with kisses but that is it. I agree with the poster from the first page who posted this.

As for you kicking the dog in the face WAY TO GO BRAVE WOMAN!! Isn't it amazing what we will do to save our babies :D

While I am not a fan of pitts. (i actually don;'t want to be around one) they aren't the only ones that attack. We just recently had a jack Russel kill a six weeks old baby. It was sad. They also had a pit bull, but it lives outside and was not even in the house at the time. All evidence said it was the jack.

I had a loose dog come after Lady once. I dove to save her and fractured my pelvis in the process. From then on I carried Muzzle (doggie Mace) and recommend everyone do so. Not everyone can physically stop an attack like you did.

I think pit bulls should be banned from dog parks. I just don't think the breed is reliable. Here in North Carolina there are constantly stories on television of a pit attacking a child.

OMG this story sent chills down me :( I'm so scared of big dogs and I'd have gone absolutely insane had I seen that! Chloe's got some attitude ;)

My cousin's small poodle chased a pit once down the street, the pit took off like a little baby!

How scary. I am glad Chloe is ok and hopefully the pug will recover quickly.

i am glad chloe is ok..see this is y i am afraid to take martini to a dog park i was warned and i dont know if i want to when it gets nice out cause my cousin took her silky terrior sunny and he got abused by some dog..she said the owner didnt care and to make matters worse he then started attacking her and sunny...i dont know if i will bring her to a dog park

i hope the little pug is okay :( and i hope the lady knows better than to take her pit bulls out again without leashes or something :mad:
