does ur dog do this For some strange reason when my boyfriend picks martini up late in the day (due to meetings) she ripes her wee wee pad to shreds i dont know what to do or how to stop this..its not often its just the days that he gets her after 12 i come home to a mess and i wanna kill her lol..what can i do to stop this |
Well......clearly, the little stinker is throwing a temper tantrum! I'm sorry, I don't know what to advise...LOL |
lol tell me about it...thanks im going nuts lol |
Sorry you are having this problem. It is actually quite common with the paper pads. I think they do it when they get bored! I haven't had that problem since I switched to washable pads. If you would like to know more about them you can look at the link in my signature. |
Sometimes Jacoby does that too. I think it is just boredom....I slept in later than normal this morning and the entire pee pee pad was in shreds!! I think he is trying to tell me not to sleep late anymore! lol |
They make a pee pad holder so that your dog won't be able to tear the pad up. I really like the washable pads better though. |
well im glad to see my dog isnt the only one doing this...i mean i tell my boyfriend this is her way of us knowing that she needs attention but omg..well i might have to do the washable ones..its once in a blue but oman i dont want to come home from work and sweep the floor...im tired and she is so bad and spoiled i think i created a monster!!! lol |

I also use washable pads. You could always use the disposable one at other times and washable when your b/f picks her up. These can still be chewed but not like a disposable |
Lol. Just wait till she gets a roll of toilet paper!! Riley did that once. He ripped it all up and threw it all over my apartment. It was very funny, but a pain to clean up.:p |

dexter doesnt rip them up, but ive heard you can get ones with sticky backs so they stick to the floor?? also, i find dexter stays entertained and leaves my socks alone ( ) if i leave him with a toy with treats hidden inside...like a kong or something. he will usually spend time on that instead of my socks. lol |
i wish....martini has toys all over and yet that still isnt enough for her so she goes for the wee wee pads... |
AHHH! My three little ones are doing this now. It has become a daily routine! Believe me, they have plenty of toys, and they are never left completely alone, so I don't think they are "bored" or "stressed" - just mischievous, I suppose! Anyway, these pee pads have a cotton substance, and like a powdery substance inside them, and this stuff gets EVERYWHERE when they chew through them. In a matter of 2 minutes once, they had completely covered their room in pee pad "snow". Sorry, I was too mad to snap a picture! I bought a pee pad tray/holder hoping that would stop them - but it hasn't. I'm going nuts as well - and vacuuming about 4-5 times a day! |
trust me i feel ur pain...i think she does it to be spiteful its like ha u wanna leave me alone now u have to deal with my mess type of situation..she only does it if she isnt with any1..i find pieces everywhere..i mean she has all her toys out and i even leave the light and tv on for her so she can see it and it still does nothing...lol so i know how u feel |

They won't fit in a holder, too thick. But they really don't need a holder, unless your yorkie takes a corner and runs with it. But that doesn't usually happen. Another thing I have done (just because I needed floor space) that works well is if you have a table (I use my grooming table) that is the same size or smaller than the pad, put the pad under it with the four legs resting on the pad. That will hold it in place. |
Gracie usually spends the day with my daughters yorkie (Rosie) and Maltese (Jack). She and Jack like to shred their Pee Pee Pads on a regular basis. They play Tug-o-War. My daughter has tried spraying them with bitter apple sometimes it helps! :) |
lol im gonna take all this into consideration..today she didnt do it cause she was picked up by her daddy at a good time lol..im happy there are days she dont do it |

Not usually, though it can happen, but only if the pee pad is not laid down, or if it needs to be changed (is too dirty) so they don't want to go on it. Mainly it is the location. You need to establish one place where it is acceptable to go potty. Keep the pad in the same place, don't move it around. I have my dog room/office divided by a gate/fence. One of my girls cries and cries if she can't be inside the gate with me while I work, so she spends most of her time in there with me. I put a half size potty pad in there since she couldn't get to the regular potty pad on the other side of the gate. She has never used it. When she needs to go, she usually cries at the fence for me to put her over and then she runs over to the regular pad and goes on it. My other girl, though, if I put her in here with me will use the pad that is in here. Either way is fine with me as long as they don't go on the floor! |

Oh Martini is doing that because of boredom. Maxi didnt really care about wee wee pads but there were few times when we were gone for longer than usual and he ripped the pad apart. He had all the toys around him but he didnt care about them for some reason. When we didnt use pads he moved to my palm tree. I was on the movie set for 5 hours when I came back I thought it was World War 2 in the livingroom. He dug up the whole tree and soil was all over. He doesnt do that anymore but that was defenately a boredom tantrum ;) |
omg lol maxiiii im shocked lol...ya its so funny how its like the toys are right there and it still doesnt matter..martini has a toy bin and its put to the side so she can go in a get her toys and there are others lying around and still noting...shes too much lol..i love how they throw tantrums like skin kids lol it amazes me that i swear shes human and not a dog |
