Just checking for an update, praying for you. |
Hello everyone i am soooooo sorry that i rushed through the post like i did i came home quick enough to tell my kids i loved them and goodnight and i rushed back out the door. It was Sam and it was a accident. I have a MAJOR RULE in my home that no one but hubby or i are the hold the furbaby's unless they are sitting on the floor and then the babies can sit on their laps. But my oldest daughter will be 18 in 16 days and she has become a reall hard to handle not listening to us at all kind of kid and she took it upon herself to pick him up well he did not want her to so he jumped from her tothe floor hubby (Bill) saw her grab him and just started to open his mouth to tell her put him down when he jumped.Bill picked him up and we rushed him to the vet we were told that he had a concusion and were given the choice to take him back home or pay 100 a night to keep him there and as i am sure all of you feel the cost was the furthest thing from our minds so of course we said keep him because we didn't know if he would/could eat or drink on his own so they could start a i.v if needed. The next evening we were informed by the vet assistant that he had in fact been eating and drinking on his own. And they said i can go pick him up after 10 am today. He is still sore and will need his rest so i plan on keeping him in his kennel (when i am not fussing over him)so the the other babies will not bother him until he is feeling 100% again. as far as my smart a$$ (sorry for the bad words i am still hurt and upset with her) goes she is now grounded until she is 18 or moves out because she broke and know she broke one of the biggest rules in out home. Dee i am so sorry i feel so horrible that i did not call you sooner i was just so nervous and rattlebrained and spending all my time with him i haven't even seen my kids until this morning well not other than to run in and tell them night. I haven't been getting to bed until almost 3-4 in the morning and then back up within a few hours and back out of the house again please don't be mad at me i should have found time to call alot sooner. Thanks everyone for the prayers and i do believe that they are what made him improve so much overnight so much so that they are telling me that he is ready and will be just fien at home. Please i ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers because the poor little guy is still sore and not 100% yet. Love, Mary |
I am so glad to hear he's going to be okay. Whew! I can concentrate on my work now. Hugs! |
Aww, I'm sorry.:( It sounds like he will be fine though.:) |
Glad to hear your baby is going to be okay. I have been anxiously watching this thread. Sorry you had to be put through all of the worry and stress. |
I'm glad to hear that your baby is going to be OK. As for the daughter, that can be a difficult age, but I'm sure she feels horrible about the whole incident. I have had mine do the same thing to me, luckily they were not injured. |
So glad everything sounds like it will be ok. How scary. Hopefully, your daughter has learned a very difficult lesson. Praying for you. And girl, try to get some sleep today! |
Just called Jamie (my friend & vet ass.) and we had a little private conversation and she said that even though he is doing better his motor skills are still not 100% she said the best way that she can explain it is that he is like new pup learning to walk after hearing that i am not sure he needs to be coming home yet maybe another day where he can be cared for with full medical attention will be better. What do you all think am i just being a scaredy cat here or would it be better for him to stay another night or maybe even 2? Mary |
Well if he's eating and drinking okay on his own, I don't see why you can't bring him home. The motor skills will come back and that's not really something the vet can help. If you brought him home, you'd obviously have to keep him confined and rested. If you're too busy to look after him then I'd keep him at the vet but if not, bring him home! I think some TLC will fix everything. I'm so glad to hear he's okay. Franklin did the same thing when we first got him.. he jumped right out of my boyfriend's arms and my boyfriend is 6' 4"! Thankfully, he caught him mid-air. They're feisty little animals.. |

Thanks Princess  Mary |
I would leave him there were they can still watch him and make sure eveything is going to be ok. If is anything like a human brain it would take very little to make it get worse. I am talking from experience on the human side. My daughter who is 13 now (Praise the Lord) got a brain injury in '2000' and we are still dealing with things today so when it comes to head trauma I am a little more watchful of. Our puppies are just like our human babies to us. |
I just saw this thread and will pray for your precious baby. I think he'd do much better at home, in familiar surroundings and with his family. As long as the vet says it's okay, I think that's a good plan. So sorry you went through such an ordeal and I hope things get better with your daughter. Hugs! |
Wow - I'm so glad this wasn't a terrible outcome. Sending continued prayers and hugs to you all!!! |

Teenagers are funny creatures...she may feel a lot worse than you realize and is dealing with it in her own way. |
i am glad he is oki mary...i would bring him home and give him tlc so he knows his surroundings and im sure he would pefer being home more then at the hospital...dont worry things will get better.... |
I'm sorry about Sam :( I'm glad he's doing better and hope he's back 100% soon. |

I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes teenagers don't want to show their vulnerability by showing emotion. I'm glad your furbaby is doing better. |
