My boys barked A LOT at first. I live in a condo and I got 2 letters of complaint from the condo association. I started being very strict and not letting them bark at all ever. Now they are really good and hardly ever bark unless someone walks right by my door. :) So they CAN be trained, but in my opinion it may take some work as they do tend to be barkers. Im sure some are not, but you don't know what you'll get!

Xavier barked like crazy when we put him in his crate the second night we had him. After using the "coins in the can" trick, he only barks for a few seconds when he first goes in his crate or when he's ready to get up in the morning. (He's so darn cute that it never really bothers me!) So dogs can definitely be trained to NOT bark! He barks these cute little "woofs" when he's playing and gets really excited!

As for my Mamaw's toy poodle...she is the loudest dog I have EVER heard! But we love her regardless....lol

I've only had my yorkie for 6 days but so far no barking here. I even said something to my husband b/c I was like "this dog NEVER barks" so either I'm lucky or he hasn't learned to really bark yet or that's just how he is. I love my yorkie now though. I can't imagine my life without him any more. So I'd say go for getting a yorkie and don't worry abou the barking. They are very smart dogs so you could always train them to NOT bark. Good luck.

Franklin only barks during playtime and when he wants to get out of his playpen.

Just like humans, all dogs are different. Some people talk a lot, some don't. I've heard of Yorkies who bark all the time and Yorkies who have never barked at all. It just depends on the temperament of your puppy.

Bunny only barks when someone rings the doorbell.She has fantastic hearing
and if anyone comes onto the property she knows right away.Othewise she
is relatively quiet.:)
