I kept Annila's hair long when she was younger but ever since I tried the puppy cut, I like it better as is is more manageable . . . I think you need to decided on what is best for Kayah and for your lifestyle, as either way she will look gorgeous :)

I am tempted to keep her hair long in time for the KC meet, but I just hate maintaining the long hair :eek: :p

think of it this way, where does she spend the majority of her time at? If you say at home, inside with central air, then why not keep it long?

that's what I'm going to do.. keep it as is till the KC meetup.. and then just trim it like she had it at the YF.. short but THAT short

during the summer.. we spend most of our time by the pool and we LOVE grilling.. and she had to be right by mommy's side

What about a modified cut such as a schnauzer cut.
Long on the legs with a skirt all around and long on the face, if you want,
but short on the back so there is nothing to mat or hold in the heat.
Just a thought.

This is from a breeder's site--she's a member here at YT, but I can't remember who it is. I downloaded it a couple of months ago so I can take it to my groomer this summer and have Basil cut like this. I LOVE THIS CUT! :love:

I like the Schnauzer cuts. Here is my Shorty in full coat and with a Schnauzer cut.

Actually having a nice long coat keeps them warm in the winter and surprising enough, cool in the summer. I'm now in the process of letting Azrael's coat grow out. I have been cutting it really short on the body, not leaving the skirt, and it's so cute on her, especially since she has the really thick cotton coat.
