I can't find a link but the smallest dog ever was a yorkie, but it only lived 2 or 3 years. It was just under a pound I think. It gets confusing when they have smallest for weight, height and length. |
Natalie, a member here has a female who's 1 lb 5 oz (full grown) and there's the chihuahua Tia owned by another member here who full grown is 1 lb 3 oz so it would have to be smaller than both of those. There's a Munchkin at Swankpets but she weighs 1 1/2 pounds so, obviously not the smallest. I know they don't just go by weight though. There's also this: http://utubelaughter.blogspot.com/20...iving-dog.html |
Sylvia, a matchbox-size Yorkshire Terrier owned by Arthur Marples of Blackburn, England, was the smallest dog in recorded history. The dog died in 1945 when she was almost two years old, at which point she stood 2.5 inches tall at the shoulder, measured 3.5 inches from nose tip to tail, and weighed 4 ounces |
