Same problem with a broker I too bought a tiny little dollbaby named Max from a puppy broker. Now I know way too much to ever make that mistake again. Long story short, I sued after my Max died, got two pups and some of my money. But I did not stop there, in California if you sell more than 10 pups a year, you have to be licensed, he was not, I am sure that they (Consumer Affairs) fined him and I think that the state tax board was also notified of this undeclared income. I also reported him to that nice little agency called the IRS. I don't get mad, I get EVEN! YOU GO GIRL! |
Good for you! That is great! You called the right people. Most petstores never ever refund a cent. Genie |
Money back You go girl! That how you have to do, hit them where it hurts, in their pockets! |
Well done! Nice to see persistance pay off and the good guys winning a round. |
Good for you, Teri! Poor little Bandit. This guy sounds like a complete jerk. Good luck with protesting him and his store- give him what he deserves. I'm sure an editorial in the newspaper would be a great addition to your efforts. I'm not sure if they'll let you "bash" an area business, but you could write it like a "thank you" to your congressman for his help. Simply mentioning that a local pet shop has sick puppies and acted this way would be enough information to keep me away. Is the Division of Consumer Affairs like the Better Business Bureau? I'd definitely report him to the BBB if you haven't already. I'm sure Bandit is proud of his momma! |
I am glad you did what you did. Maybe if it is no longer a profiable business selling dogs for these people they will quit and then where will the puppy mills sell their puppies? I was in a pet store once and was looking at a sick baby cocker. The guy said he was on meds that will help. I wanted to walk out with the puppy and find a vet for him. I came really close to running out with him but didn't want to go to jail. All to make a point. |
You go girl! I would do the exact same thing! This one's for you Bandit! |
I am sorry for your loss, but I sure am happy that at least he got what he deserved! |
yorkielovebug That poor little Bandit, did you find out what caused him to die. That's so sad. Prayers for you and your family Yorkielovebug |
 Good job well done! Like you said you would rather have Bandit, but that wasn't meant to be so hit that sucker where it hurts $$$ that's all they know and understand! Ran into a lady that just bought a yorkie puppy from a pet shop, to make a long story short, he has a few problems and she got him checked out by "their vet" no problems, took him to her vet found problems. She went to take him back before she got too attached, the owner yelled at her in front of other customes and made her cry. Said some terrible things she ran out with her little puppy in her arms and forgot about taking him back to that terrible place. Pet shops do not need to sell pets just supplies Will always remember Bandit ... |
Happy I am sooo happy to hear that this is resolved for you both and that the outcome was in your favor. Hopefully that man will learn something from this but probably not. Now hopefully you can focus on just the good things about Bandit, instead of still continually dealing with this ignorant man. You now have some sort of justice for Bandit and yourselves. Remember him always because you WILL see him again :rainbow: and enjoy your new little Tucker :jump28ib: . |
