I got ask to be on the news should I? Ok i got ask by channel 8 news to do a interview should i? I am so nervous i am not sure it would be a good thing or not. They said that city hall is the only ones that will speak to them and they would like to hear the story from me and what i saw since no one in the rescue group (no one else knows who the rescue group it so shhhhhhhhhh) or the humane society will talk to them. I know it is alright witht he rescue group because they gave me the number to call the news channel.But my problem is should i do it because if i do then everyone will know it was me and i don't want anyone threatening my family :mad: |
I would be careful with this. As you know there are some pretty scary people out in this world. I commend you for what you've done, but you'll have to think about how going public will affect your family. |

I wonder if the news would take a written report of what you saw and read it on the air...tell them you want to protect your identity...OR have you face blackened out or behind a screen...ya..that would be neat.. Dawn |

In a situation like that, maybe you could ask them if they can interview you in the dark? Have you seen the interviews where the person's face is darkened so they can't be recognized? I think its important to get the word out, but you shouldn't be risking your safety. You should ask them if there are any options so that you won't be seen. |
I agree that you should be cautious. There's so many wackos out there and even though most people know you've done a good thing, there's other people who may be friends, "cohorts in crime", family etc of the accused parties; you don't want them to retaliate. Maybe you could just give a written statement to the news channel and tell them that you prefer to remain anonymous? |
I would think if they were going to possible have you in court that is all you would need to do. I wouldn't know if I would want to go on TV and have to worry about family. I think it was a wonderful thing you did and no reason on earth not to go on TV except about the weird ones out there and if you want to take that chance. I think if you go to court that is where they are going to decide if she gets her dogs back or not. Not on TV. You just go with your gut feelings as to what you want and feel is right. I believe it needs to be on TV but not sure if you have to be the one that does that. Plus it needs to be told that the cops have been there on several occasions and never went in. Maybe you can write something they would read on there but no have your picture on the TV. See if that would work. Due to the safety of your family. |

Guys that is a wonderful suggestion to see if they will block out my face and name i am going to call hubby and talk to him about it but i only have 20 more minutes to decide :confused: |
I don't think anyone would do anything to you or your family "after" the fact. I'd go the mile. This is what all of us need to do when we are trying to help, otherwise nothing ever changes. |
They should have no problem not showing your face. I work at a newstation in the washington dc area and we do it all the time....the camera will have a shot down on the ground or run VO(voice over) while the person is speaking...the reporter will just note that you, the witness, wishes to not have her face shown. I'd just see if they would take a written statement from you, stating you would love to comment yourself, but do have family to think about! I would state what you want and need to, but still be carefull not to give links to yourself. And you do have to respect the fact, that it is just not you, it is your family, too that might have to endure the feed back from this! You have done GOOD! Do what you feel is right for you and family! Hold your head up very high, and enjoy the peace in your heart, that has come from doing for the little animals! |

If your testimony will be used in court, and they are counting on that, shouldn't you talk to the attorney involved? Would that be the county or district attorney? They may have a preference one way or the other. I would go with whatever they suggest. You don't want to do something that would inadvertently hurt their case against this woman. |
What did your hubby say? And what did you decide to do? Prayers for you as you make a very delicate decision. |

Well hubby said to do it i talked to them (the news people) before hand and the way that they talked they will just quote me on what i had to say so it's all good :D |
