| New Yorkers! New Bill for our pets!! From 7/12/05 New York Post July 12, 2005 -- Jazzy's Law, inspired by the death of Post columnist Cindy Adams' Yorkshire terrier, was signed into law by Mayor Bloomberg yesterday. "This is a commonsense measure that will help ensure the safety and health of pets when they are out of their owner's care," Bloomberg said during a bill-signing ceremony at City Hall yesterday. The bill requires pet owners to show proof of vaccination for communicable diseases before the animals can be left in city kennels. Cindy's dog Jazzy died after getting sick in a kennel.

| In Texas, you can't leave them in kennels or even have them groomed without a complete set of vaccinations including kennel cough vac.

| Hasn't this always been the case. We used to kennel our pug and we would have to go in there with vaccination records and a check up letter saying no mites, fleas,e tc... They told me that this was the law and we were doing that as far back as 1998. |

Thats what I thought. I couldn't get Desi groomed without showing her vaccination record. Maybe, up til now, it was up to the discretion of the establishment and now its a law. Anyway, its good. | |
