ahhh no labradoodles, yorkipoos, cockapoos etc They are a MIXED BREED BREED of KNOWN origin of 2 purebred registered parents - I have bred PUREBRED Yorkies for years and they are adorable and still my favorites obviously but gee why do people hesitate to post on here and get reminders to do so.. because there are those FEW out there that just have to try to one up others and try to be superior, (rolling MY EYES) we all KNOW what purebred and Mixed mean folks and others TRULY do not appreciate it. There are other breed registries which I DO NOT USE for my Dorkies, but the AKC is adding new ones yearly, once they are established. Thanks for those who had nice comments. Some need to learn to play better with others. |
What a cutie, and they have wonderful temperments |

Many of us feel very strongly about "breeders" purposely breeding mixes as well as irresponsibly breeding purebreds. It's not gonna go away, so sorry. |
[quote=amandawash;2501100]Um, sorry but the last time I checked we all have our right to our own personal opinions, regardless of what they are. I guess this public forum should only allow others to post their opinions if they are nice? Not happening.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: :rolleyes::rolleyes: |

yes I have a dorkie! Mother is a long haired dauchhoud(SP?) and father yorkie. |
While I agree thy can be cute. So many dogs are killed each day because their are so many people breeding! Its crazy to see what "new breed" they can make. Its not a breed its a mutt. Mix. Whatever you want to call it. Sad really I think. HOWEVER if you have one and its your pet then enjoy your baby and hope its litter mates are not dumped for lack of homes or cause the new is gone. Yes I know this happens to pure bred dogs also. Some people just care more about money then the dogs. |
Uni is a "dorkshire terrier" b/c she is a dork! We call her that b/c it rhymes with "yorkshire terrier". (She is pure yorkie.) Other than that, breeders who advertise "designer dogs" ought to be ashamed of themselves, they are only in it for the fad and the money. And yes I know this thread is old, but whatever. |

 This thread is old but I have to high five on your response. The "Designer Dog" world is making the puppymill and BYB industry worse. And it is already horrifying. I'm beginning to think there is something seriously wrong with some people, because most would rather ignore the problem and continue to support the industry, to save a buck or to claim that they have something unique. Then later for the unlucky ones (which is A LOT of people) when problems begin to show, they have the nerve to have hurt emotions on their choice. Good grief Charlie Brown! |
Dorkies 3 Attachment(s) Hi Everyone, Yes, I have heard and have had Dorkies! They are sweethearts and it brings out the best of both breeds. I will share some of my babies pics with you. Merry Christmas Everyone! |
I'm seen one at my shelter before, we were actually going to adopt her but she ended up being adopted. Her name was Muffy and I swear she was the cutest thing. Perfect combo of Yorkie and Dachshund. Maybe I can find some pictures of her, she has since been adopted though 8) |
