X Pens Well, I'm trying to get my furbaby used to his pen before tomorrow when he will be here all by himself, but I just hate when he whines and crys. I know I just need ignore him and say "no barking" but is there any other tips that have helped you babies adjust to being alone in the pen? |
Awww... kong with peanut butter bully stick puzzle toys with treats inside hide a squirrel radio playing (make sure the cord is out of reach) playmate? :p |
It takes time... how old is your baby? |
earplugs always help....just kidding. Not the suggustions above are great. Find a toy thats only for when he's in his pen. Take it away when he's out with you. That way is special. Kong or hide a squirrel type inter action toys are great! Good luck |
he's 3.5 months and just got hime yesterday |
is peanut butter ok for dogs? and what do you mean hide a squiral? |
here's a site that shows what they are talking about---hide a squirrel [url]http://thepuppyshop.com/tn111 Joanne :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :dog:: |

Just a little comment about the kong and peanut butter or squeeze cheese. My doggies go through the cheese/peanut butter too fast unless I freeze it. Helps it last longer. |

Where can I purchase an xpen? |
1 Attachment(s) Attachment 188404 I got mine on amazon.com with free shipping. I really like it, but I think it will be a matter of time before she can get out of it by herself. |
My baby started in his X-pen at three months and was in it all day while I was at work. The first several days, he howled like a baby coyote when I left home and was frantic to get to me when I came home. BUT -- after a while I noticed he was perfectly quiet when I was leaving and when I came home, he was pretty calm when I took him out. He's been a dream in his pen ever since (he's two now). It takes time. I also found that leaving him a Kong full of his favorite treats helped smooth the morning transition. Your baby will be fine, he's just got to get used to it. |
It really does just take some time. My Jamie whined the first couple of days when I left him alone in his playpen to go to work. I on the other hand flat out BAWLED everytime I left him for a solid week (so sue me I'm a cry baby!). So my best advice is Be Tough. It is harder on you than it is on him. I quickly realized that right after I left Jamie would curl up and go to sleep. It's like with skin babies. If you make a big deal about leaving then they will think its a big deal and react accordingly. Be calm and say "Bye bye buddy!" and get out quick before you cry! |
