How do you pronounce...
 
....the word Biewer? :confused: I guess this is a silly question, I have been saying it in my head all this time reading about them, and then today thought, 'you know, I don't even really know if I'm saying it right!!'

its pronounce like "beaver". :)

Thank you so much! Unfortunately, I WAS saying it wrong in my head....now I must try to remember to correct myself so that when I say it in actual conversation I won't mess it up. :rolleyes: Somehow "Beaver" just doesn't sound as wonderful as they way I was saying it. ;)

Don't feel silly- it's a new word for most of us and it gets asked all of the time. I think most of us thought it was beewer or something like at first.

Actually, even though it is pronounced Beaver, the ones here in the US, I call bewers, as it sounds nicer...When I go talking about my little beaver, well, people look at you kind of strange..My hubby said, we don't live in Germany, so pronounce it like you would here in the states..so, that's what I do..;)

this is true. there is a german accent on the word so its pronounced more like what you posted. my german stinks so it comes out more like beaver. tho in my head i still say buwer

Actually it's pronounced beaver...I had an exchange student for a year from germany, when I talked to him on the phone a few mos back, I spelled it and asked him to pronounce it, he pronounced it beaver.

This is also how I was pronouncing it. This thread makes me feel much better....thanks to all. :)

About any Biewer breeders--when you pronounce it correctly, do people know what you're talking about? Or do you alter the pronunciation?
