I also own an off- color yorkie. She is a gold and white parti-colored yorkie and she came from AKC standard colored yorkie parents who both happened to carry the recessive gene for the gold and white color. Julz~I wonder if my little Chai looked like your babies when she was new? Her are pictures of her, her daddy and her mommy. |
Great news Julz!! |

If that isn't just one of the sweetest things! |
I feel stupid for asking, but are they for sale? I live in PA and I'm looking for a puppy as I write. |
The standard ones definetly are, I'm not sure if I am keeping the liver and white male, and I am keeping the female. |
Great news congratulations! |
Julz ~ Are your standard pups boys or girls? I love all the pics you post of your babies and the parents are adorable too. The Daddy looks so tiny, maybe the haircut. How big or the parents? Keep the pics coming!! :D |
Pups I have been at it a long time as many know. I had a stud service about 25 yrs ago and a female was born the most gorgeous chocolate color. I was not a club member at that time , but had a good friend who was..she called a few breeders and asked what they thought...all thought the pup should be destroyed...it was not my decision to make and I was happy the owner kept her. 4 yrs ago I got a blue male in a litter...I asked around again..some were still putting them down, but most felt it happens, find a pet home... my boy is in a pet home and very happy. There have always been non-standard colors, but more and more breeders are allowing them to live...plus, the Internet has changed the world..LOL we find out about these things much more. |
The "off color" yorkies are just beautiful and I would love to own one. |

Your puppies don't look red to me, they look blonde, which I have seen quite a few of those before. As you said, they are a fluke with the coloring, but are cute as buttons. You could never show them, they would be disqualified in the ring, but that does not make them any less loveable, or any less of a purebred. |

They were more red when they were younger; they are getting lighter. I call them red in the posts because that is how they started out and everyone knows which litter the thread is about. Here is a photo of when they were tiny. |
