I certainly understand you dilemma. My daughter now has a pit bull, a collie, and a chihuahua. The pit gets along great with the other dogs and all the family members but he acts very aggressive if any strangers come to the house. They have to keep him locked up if company comes over. I think he was not socialized properly. I just could not live in fear wondering if my dog might attach a child or another person. The problem with any dog is that you don't know what kind of personality they will have once they are grown. Most Pits I have been around are very friendly. |
Insurance Be sure to check your Home Onwers Insurance policy...various breeds are not permitted or covered and you could be cancelled. Know your policy. Some Rottie, Dobie and Cane Corso etc have these problems. |
It is were me... I would have to say no. It might be okay but I just would not be willing to chance it. Good luck to you and your decision. |

Pit Bull I want to add my 2-cents worth. Alphie my rescue yorkie once live with a lady who had a pit-bull. In the house and Alphie was always bitting him showing who was Olfa. Well she did not want to take a risk. She got rid Alphie. Gave him to someone who could not take care of him and a abusive husband. So with all of that I have Alphie who is loved Very much and has had his teeth cleaned gone to vet. Gone to groomer and sleeps with me and Jack. (other yorkie). Runs all day and plays outside and inside. Well that is all I wanted to say. Good Luck Cheryl:animal-pa |

Yes, you obviously have to address the present situation with the pit bull living at your house. You will have to consider all the circumstances and do what is right for your family. Perhaps your son will move out again soon and take the puppy with him? I hope it works out well for everyone concerned. |

Cujo's mom was killed by a pit bull. :( He came up into her yard and killed her w/in a few seconds. So... I would obviously be hesitant. It\'s a tough situation and I hope y\'all can find a solution. I definitely wouldn\'t allow them to be alone together, though. Maybe ask your vet about it? |
