| Because the pee is probably staining the hair. Do you wash that area and keep it clean several times a day? He should be wiped and you could also braid his hair up and clear it from that area. Hope that helps some.

| I have only used them for a short time to assist in potty training, i know my boys hair would tangle and get kind of nasty to, I would brush there hair on the belly area more and keep it clean.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I posted this in the other belly band thread that you asked this question in - so I thought that I would just copy and paste it here How long are you leaving the bands on him at one time? You should change the pads out regularly and wipe "that area" down often (I use baby wipes to do this) as if you leave it on him too long, and he marks in it, he can actually get very raw and it can sting the skin and become very uncomfortable for him. I doubt most people do this, but I actually use regular pads (not the thin little panty liners) and I use the ones that have the plastic lining so that when they mark, it sinks down INTO the pad, instead of it just sitting on top of the pad and irritating the skin.

| i change the pads once a day....he doesnt seem to be irratated but it just turns brown.....just there.....not the belly....we keep the belly shaved really short........i use the serenity pads.....if it is staining it then why would my breeder use them on her show dog....i was told that that was the reason why she used them was to keep the long hair from staining....so now i am confused.....oh well this is a real learning experience.....something new every day.....
