Is 2 Better Than 1???? Hello all - I have been seriously thinking about getting another yorkie. I wanted to know about anyone who decided to get another yorkie and how the change was for their household. Was the change for the better or did it cause any major problems? My main reasons for wanting another one is because my sebastian is at home all day by himself because of my job. It hurts to have to leave him but I have no other choice right now. Another reason for wanting another one is because sebastian absolutely loves to play and I thought it would make it more interesting if he had someone to play with. He just turned two and I thought it would be a good time to invest in another one. The only issues I currently have with him is the barking and occassional mishaps with peeing but we are making progress. So, do you think 2 is better than 1? would love to read any comments, stories, or suggestions. Thanks!! |
I can't really help I haven't got my 1st one yet! Sry |
i have 1 as of rt now and looking to get #2 just so martini has a play buddy because she is always with some1 but she lovesss dogs and i want her to have a brother so badly so im working on that lol |
I would say YES !!! You have 2 hands :) |
I always had one dog, then 2 1/2 years ago I got a second and loved having 2. They have each other when I am not home. Then I got a 3rd a year ago and they are closer in age and they play/fight snuggle together. I then got a 4th puppy put tragically she had a congenital kidney disease and passed after having her 5 weeks, But for the first few weeks Pixie and Dixie had a blast playing and snuggling. I did not find having multiples a problem except for vet expenses. I say go for it. |

I got Amy when she was 5 weeks old. Didnt know zip about them. Then I got Samantha when she was 6 months old and Amy was 6 months also. I NEVER regretted that decision!!! Amy and Samantha were the best of friends and they always had each other when I was at work. they went everywhere with me. They loved to hike and swim and play with their toys. They were my 2 true loves of my life. GET TWO!! |
Yessss Hi, 2 sounds like a good age to bring in another one. I waited until Zander was a bit over 1, I wanted to make sure that he was potty trained so the new one would learn from him, and that he understood the command Quiet, so that the new one would not take off barking when he did it. In July 2007, we brought home, little bundle of energy! Jazzie!! Zander came to LIFE, he was sooo happy to have a pup chase him and he chases her, and they play, and they snuggle and best of all She learned to potty so much quicker than he did, ;) phew! The bell on the back door for her to ring is a major plus too. Give treats immediately after pup going 1 or 2. Jazzie has brought life, laugher, fun into our home, I would not change a thing, I'm in love :D. My hubby had said nooo, to a new pup. I smiled, eventually I came home with Jazzie and surprised him, his reaction - what! did you do??!! she sat on his lap and licked his hands, oooh please, he melted like butta' !! :D I've caught him cradling her like a baby!! |
Yep, and 3 are better than 2..LOL |
ok so u are all making me want another one more and more everyday lol |
2 is definately better, I never thought I could love another furbaby as much as Maggie, but as soon as Bailey came into my life I couldn't imagine life without the "Puppies-A-Pair"!:aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
I started out with one. Then got a second one. Then a third one. Now, a fourth one. You get the idea! Yes, having more than one Yorkie is the best! |

 It's nice to have a buddy for them when no one is home. It took me a while to find the fight buddy for Chip though, I was super picky because I wanted to make sure I got the right one for him. My criteria was for his future buddy to be a boy, about the same age, size, temperment. Luckily, it all worked out with Harley. Now they are best buds, its like they enjoy having each other as a roomie. |
