OH YES...you need 2 Yorkies...like potato chips..can't eat you 1! |
I would never have just one dog.. when I got my first yorkie rescue I was called three weeks later asking if I wanted the second one.. I was not sure as I had not had a dog in years.. but I took her.. they were best of pals, I never felt quilty about going to work. Then one died, I ended up with yet another dog. Then number three so I did not ever have a dog alone being sad ever again. I am not sure who was worse, us or the dog being alone and lonely. Now I have 4 LOL Nothing changed and if it did it was for the better. pooh's mum |
We first adopted Zada when she was 14 months old, but felt so sorry for her being alone at times so when she was 6 months old we adopted her first cousin, Azrael, who was 5 months old from the same breeder and they actually jumped into each others arms. They remembered each other. They are so close and love each other so much that they won't be out of eye shot of each other. They are both 3 years old as of Dec. 5th and Jan. 16th, and on Dec. 21st adopted Raziel who was born Sept. 5th. She is a live wire and dearly loves to play with her sisters and all the toys. She has shown them how to play and have a great time. I really think no matter how many you have, (well up to a point I guess  ) each one will bring something new and different to the family. It's fun, it's amazing and delightful! I wouldn't change a thing. |
I started out with just Toby (my first small, indoor dog) and even though I stay at home with him all day, I soon realized he needed another playmate/ companion/ furball more his size. When Toby turned one we found Shelby Rose from a YT breeder, Helen (Nolen's Yorkies -- I cannot recommend them highly enough!!), and she's been just perfect for him and our family. They are a year apart in age but she's a little firecracker and gets my lazy bones Toby up and moving, playing and running around the house. They are so fun to watch! We are so happy we got the second yorkie. Just like having kids, it's actually a lot easier having two than just one since they play together and keep each other occupied so much. |
I love having two and will never have just one |
1 is great but 2 is better! |
I would say definitely get another one. But first you have to figure out if you want a boy or girl. Is your boy neutered, how does he get along with other dogs? I have found that two males will sometimes fight, two females will sometimes fight but I don't ever have a problem with a male and female together. I do know that there are many people that have two males with no problem. If you are gone during the day you might want to look for a little older puppy or Yorkie. I am excited for you. Let us know when you make the big step. |
I'm getting my second Yorkie in a few days....the waiting is awful.:p We have wanted two for a long time. We tried adopting a Rat Terrier to be company for Ziggy and that was a disaster. Ziggy hated him and the dog was so hyper we had to return him. I've read that it's very important for the first dog to continue to be top dog...first to be greeted, eat, receive treats, etc so he doesn't feel abandoned or in competition. I hope Ziggy will like this new little boy....thank goodness he is a Yorkie, actually Ziggy's cousin. :aimeeyork |
I would say YESSSS because I wat a yorkie and a maltese. From being on here and seeing how cute they are, I will be saving up for Joey a playmate sooo Yes go for it! |
 2 is better than 1. My little Tumi is happier now since she has her sis Gracie to play with. Now i want the third one! hubby said i have to wait  bad bad hubby! |
