1 Attachment(s) A bumper sticker maybe? |

It's simple since Dan uses cafe press. He just uploads the image on the item he wants (shirt, sticker, dog clothes, lunch box, etc) and then we can buy them from the site. |

I finally got around to reading all of this thread and think you guys (gals) have hit the nail right on the head. I LOVE the t-shirt and bumper sticker ideas! I will definitely be in line to buy both. Hope "we" (ya'll) can get this off the ground and get something printed. The word definitely needs to be spread. I've done my share of trying to tell people why pet shops are bad and am surprised at how many people don't even know what a puppy mill is. I had to go into a pet shop one time in my small town to get a certain food that I wanted Tatum to try (they were the only ones that had it here) and saw a lady looking at a puppy there. I tried to tell her to try to find a reputable breeder and she argued forever with me. She had bought a dog from this same place years and years ago and he was perfect (so she said) so none of my arguments faized her. I'll keep trying to do my share and would be honored to wear a t-shirt and slap a bumper sticker on to do my part of the protesting! |
Wow Angie ...maybe some people really LIKE paying 4 times the average price for a dog and taking chances on getting an ill puppy - There will always be people who just don't understand or really care....but there also will always be people who really DO care and just didn't know.... You tried and that's all you can do - way to go girl ! |
We need those window stickers, here. Not many people put bumper stickers on there cars. Be sure they are legible from a distance for those of us losing our vision. I can't read that small print even when I squint! |
I LOVE it!!! 1 Attachment(s) I also like the thought of the universal sign, but maybe instead of a ghost like ghostbusters, a sad looking puppy. No words, and only the very heartless can ignore a sad puppy. Nothing really graphic that would turn people off... |
The one with paws is great! But I think the text is too harsh - because we don't want people to stop supporting pet stores, only the puppies they sell, right? "Stop puppymills - don't buy your pup at the pet store!" Or something? We don't have puppymills in Denmark that I know off, but I would support the idea anyway :) |

You have a good point, kewtee.... I can't imagine that ALL pet stores are involved in puppy mills, are they? Of course there are some stores that don't actually sell pets, just supplies. Doesn't PetSmart hold an adoption thing every so often? Isn't that a good thing? Don't know much about them because we don't have one here. We don't want to boycott all pet stores, just the ones that are involved in puppy mills. If we actually had the power to shut down all pet stores, where would we get all our pups' cute toys and food?? :) |
Oh, I LOVE the one with the pawprints! |
I think the idea is that pet stores should not sell dogs and cats. Fish and birds are ok. I don't like sad puppies on shirts (sorry), it seems mean. I prefer a positive approach. |

I've never seen dogs or cats for sale in Petco and Petsmart - They have rescues for ADOPTION only - PetLAND is one of the the biggest buyer of Mill puppies. We have all 3 in Houston - I NEVER go to Petland. For any reason. |
