How cool is that? You obviously have very special friends and family. Love the cake, too!!!!! Sounds like Zoe will have lots of aunts and uncles who will love her too!!!!!

Thank you! OMG yes I love that they understand how much she means to me, even if they don't agree with how crazy I am and dressing her up and stuff lol Yeah the dress shot isn't very good, my sister was in charge of pics and she didn't take the best pictures LOL Unfortunately my fancy schmancy digital slr is totally broken, isn't that they way? The cheap cameras work great and the pro ones are total crap lol

That cake is just fabulous!! And of course you baby is gorgeous!

A close friend of mine gave me little gift baggies full of doggie stuff before I got William. And she did the same thing before I got my 2 cats too! Friends that understand our babies are deserving of their own celebrations are the best!

Oops...I forgot to ask you what area of Anthro you're in? My nephew just got his masters in it and is working on his doctorate at U. Colorado. His field is archeology and he spent a lot of time in Oxaca the last few years. It's so interesting!

Oh wow, that's so cool! I was really interested in forensic anth. but there are no real forensic anth jobs in canada outside of academia. I'm more into applied anth. than academic stuff although I love writing papers and doing research projects. My interests are now shifting to medical anthropology and cultural (specifically internet culture and communities, how appropriate LOL). I'm trying to decide right now if I'm going to do my masters in community and culture or if I want to do something outside of anth. like Chinese Medicine (which I don't know much about lol). I probably will stay in the field and do my masters online through Athabasca University (based out of Alberta and they have a good reputation) and end up in government (native issues, museum staff,etc.) or private consulting/corporate work (product R&D, marketing research etc using anthropological methods).

Sorry, I'm a rambler...hazard of my field LOL

A puppy shower! What alot of fun that must have been. My sister told me once that someone she worked with was given a puppy shower when she had adopted not one, but two puppys. And these weren't yorkies....don't remember the breed exactly, but it was one of the bigger ones.

Cool- I went to grad school in Medical Anthropology! My specialty is very low birth weight infants and the interface between the medical care team and parent(s)- where the 'etic' view of the medical system comes from the parent as they enter at the birth of their child. lol I guess it must be the anthropologist in us that makes us ramble!

In my previous life I worked for a statistical firm, doing their small participant/observation studies in support of larger work.

Anyway

your girl is adorable and you have terrific friends!!
