I swear our boxer potty trained the yorkie. - it helps to have a potty buddy. I used old bathroom rugs with vinyl backing instead of pee pads. I think the furry rug reminded her of grass..... (I wiped up a little of her tinkle, with the rug, so it would have that right smell. I also put them around the house - at the doorways - that's where she seemed to go...hubby about died,at first:eek: But I will tell you that I looked under the TV cabinet the other day - and she had crawled under there to leave me a little present:( |
I have two that arent "fully" trained..one is 18 months and one is 8 months...I think Reece regressed after Soleil came..eeerrrrrr...hopefully she picks it up quick but its not unusual for it to take a loooooooooong time..even if your male learned quickly.. Dawn |
I don't expect her to go to the basement alone!!! I take her every half hour or sooner LOL!!! She will be trained to go out side when it gets warmer... ;) |
burrrrrrr!!! don't you have snow right now?? I don't know how you guys from cold states do it... i'm just a wimp lol |
No we got a little the other day but just a dusting...I love snow when I don't have to drive. But it is really cold out... My poor chewy can't go for a walk!!! I got him boots though so we do go if it's not too cold out.:D |

does she climb up and down the stairs yet herself? Gino is 10 months and still wont go up or down more than three stairs. |
Well the cold weather puts a damper when they are use to going outside. I know we all wish it would warm up. Not like these yorkies like the cold outside much. Mine shiver and sometimes comes back in and has an accident. But we are back on track. They know it doesn't make you happy when you have to continue to clean up the carpet. The peeing we do good but it takes her a long time to decide on a spot outside to poop and then by then the wind is blowing and she just wants back in and forgets what she was out there to do.GRRRR on that one. It will get warmer and get better. |

She'd be more successful if the pads were accessible to her on her own. When you can't watch her, put her in the xpen with potty pads, toys, bed, water, food. When you are watching her, leave the door of the xpen open so she can go in there and potty. They're like toddlers, if the potty is too far, they don't always make it. |
