Pet Sitting Charges I've been ask to sit for 2 male Yorkies for 2 weeks. I don't know them or the owners, it is my parents insurance man :) Anyways...I'm clueless on what to charge. I mean, I know just when I have a female staying with me for breeding...its hectic. This would be TWO extra for TWO weeks. What are normal charges? (I'm also going to call my local pet sitting services to see what they charge) |

Where I live in home pet sitting is about $50-65 (and in some cases, more) per pet, per day. |

I can't answer you but where I live I pay a dog walker $15.00 for 20mins. He comes in take Buddy out to pee and poop brings him back, feeds him pats him on the head and leaves. I use him only for emergencies, obvisiouly. |

Are they going on a personal or business trip? If it's a personal trip, and they can afford to go away for two weeks, they can afford $40-50 per day! :p |
My pet sitter stays with my 3 in my home and she charges $50 a day which is really good. Some charge as much as $75. With them staying at your home and for so long though I would think it would be less. |

My groomer charged us $110 for two weeks. I know that doesnt help you because shes so low but thats what she charges to her clients only |

I would probably charge $10-$15 ($20 max) per day per dog. |
My daughter is leaving her 2 with a vet tech for 3 days, they're charging her $75 total..the lady here that has a boarding facility, said my 4 would cost $30 total a day |
Our local boarding kennel charges $15 a day for the 1st dog and around $10 for the second. I think $20 to $25 per day would be reasonable. They, of course, would need to provide all their beds, food, treats and toys. Also, be sure to get the name of their vet in case of any emergency. |
this past summer I sat for one week at my breeders home with her 6 adult yorkies and she paid me $350 for the week..and it wasn't hard at all as theyare all on a routine and it was fun!! I actually had 7 including my own who got to spend a week with his mom, dad and half brother!!:D |
Considering you are keeping both dogs in your home, I would say at least $20 a day. |
My dog's breeder charges $15.00 per dog per day when a dog stays with her. |
The local groomer/kennel and vet/kennel charge 15.00 for the first dog and 12.00 for any after per day :) |
My vet charges 20.00 for every 24 hours |
My two cents here.. I think 50 a day is way too much, yes it is work.. but if your home anyway.. think of 25 maybe a day for the two. that adds up to a good chunk of change and take it and buy yourself something that you would not normally do.. lol at 20 a day, that is 280 for two weeks, round it off to three hundred and treat yourself.. just a thought.. and even if people can afford to go away on a personal trip.. that also takes money away from their spending money.. we all know what is is like to love our babies, and need to feel we are leaving them with good people.. but some cannot afford to pay a fortune.. if they have tons of money well that is different.. I looked after one of my own past puppies for a week last year, did not want anything, they brought us back a shirt from hawaii.. |
When I worked for a pro handler, I got paid $20.00 per day to take care of 12 to 25 dogs everyday. When I had my dog shown by a pro handler, she charged $10.00 per day. I think that $15.00 per day is a good figure for two Yorkies. |
Update Well I decided to decline and not sit for the two dogs. Although I could use the extra money I just think it'll be way too much. Two extra ones are alot and the owner doesn't gate them or anything. I think I would have issues there. Plus they are older dogs and I would just be so worried about them! I guess he also home cooks for them. (there is no way I can do this!!!) So I decided to pass this time. Thanks everyone for your input and price suggestions. At least I now have an idea on what to charge! Thanks!!! :) |
