Agg I wish people would stop buying puppies as xmas gifts... There is a guy here at work that I know who did this. Now he is asking if I would be interested in buying Niko because they are too busy and can't/won't want to deal with the potty training stuff. His wife gets annoyed with the nonsense. I explained housebreaking and the benefits of the use of an XPen...went in one ear and out the other. They have only had him going on two months....never mind giving him a chance. Pisses me off because everyone that informs themselves about puppies and yorkies in specific knows that it takes time to housebreak them. I can just spit I am so damn mad. When will people learn that a new puppy is not a toy but a long term damn commitment. He gave that dog to his wife and three children (7, 6, and 1). He says he paid x for the dog and wants x. If I hadn't bought Zoey so unexpectedly I would buy him to just not have his little world turned upside down. Sorry guys I just needed to get that off of my chest. |
People dont think sometimes they see the gesture as being good but dont really consider the hard facts that having a puppy is like having a baby and they need love and attention all the time and to be cared for 24/7 i dont understand people they really should think before they do somthing as important as this:cry: |
I really hate when people buy dogs like its the latest must have "gadget". Just like the new gadget they don't learn how to use it:mad: :thumbdown |
Oh God I know...this pisses me off. Or getting ANY animal for Christmas for that matter. People dont think before they realize how much responsibility these little one are! |

Any chance of you buying the dog and rehoming? Consider it a rescue...? |
That is terrible!!!! :( Not fair to that sweet baby at all! |
Christmas gift I very much agree that puppies should not be given as gifts to people who have not thought it through. That being said, I got Ms. Lexie as a Christmas gift from my husband and she's the best thing that's ever happened to me (besides my husband ;) ) We had been talking about getting her for two months and even made the decision to move to a pet friendly place to get her and risk double rent for a few months! We bought her the Sunday before Christmas and having her on Christmas Day with all my family was the best gift I've ever gotten. I hope that poor, neglected baby finds a furever home soon! |
some people appreciate them as a gift and realize its work but well worth it..martini was a bday gift for me this yr and everyone knew i wanted a yorkie and when i saw her i knew i was gonna have to get her and sure enough every1 gave me money as a bday gift so that i could get her..i love my family and friends and my boyfriend because if it wasnt for any of them i wouldnt have martini and life without her isnt possible im too attached and love her to pieces |
I agree! My boyfriend wanted to buy Pikko for me for Christmas, but I told him 'NO!' I'll pay for it myself. Pikko is a companion, not a gift. I wanted a yorkie anyway, so said I'll pay for it. |

Would love to. I thought about doing that and giving him to my dad. But the thing is that I am in the hole. Buying Zoey was not in the plans but I couldn't manage to be baby less when I lost Lulu. |
well do u know how much cause i may know some1 and since ur in queens its not far from bk...u have info and pics? |

If it's planned and you consider the situation your bringing them into then that is fine as a holiday gift but not a whim gift becasue they are cute or your passing a pet store. Those girls have had time to bond already with the pup so it's unfair to remove him from the home. But then again I guess maybe it's better all around if he goes to a home where he will be loved, doted on and come first. |
thats so sad for that little pup. i bet he is getting yelled at a lot for making pee mistakes too all becuase the owners werent prepared to train properly :( and it makes me mad that they want to sell the puppy instead of adopting it out. seems like they just want their money back for THEIR mistake without any concern for the wellbeing of this pup. i hope the little guy gets the home he deserves... |

I know that Niko was 5 months and and 5.7 lbs. He just got his second set of shots. Will get pictures. That is a bit old to be now getting his second set of shots. I think that he had originally told me he wanted $700 for him since he paid $1200. I want to see how much more info I can get as well on the breeder etc. He got the pup somewhere in Bklyn. |
