1 Attachment(s) I live in Miami, so I get that kind of thing all the time, My Henry is only 11 weeks old almost 12 and he's 3lbs and people keep telling me he's fat!, I've gone to the vet twice and he says he's healthy and not fat... But then again I picked the biggest one of the group when I got him, which I mentioned before was due to my bad sight, I was worried I would step/hurt him etc. But here in Miami, when I go around with him, I just always get those comments o.o;. and to those strangers who call Henry "fat" this is what he thinks! I think I would have referred him to this website and told him that he should ask that question here. :D |
oops forgot to mention, that picture was taken before I brushed him lol bedhead..and the collar I put on just for the pictures, I'm too paranoid lol.- so sorry for Henry's lil messy hair |
This makes me think of an incident at my work. I worked at very upscale department store, which has a pet friendly environment....we welcomed furbabies. This girl would bring her Yorkie in all the time, and the dog was a holy terror. He would snap at people, actually nipped another customer's heel, and peed in a dressing room!! I tried to interact with the dog, but it was not having it...it was the unfriendliest Yorkie I've ever encountered. Anyway, I tried to engage the owner in conversation about Yorkies, and all she cared about was how much mine weighed! My girl was smaller than her dog, and the conversation ended at that. She was such a b****! My supervisor ended up banning her dog from the store after that...as cute as it was, it might as well have been a Pit Bull for all the attitude and behavior problems it had. |
Yea alot of people here in miami seem to think the smaller the better, or better quality or etc. as if I "baught" the cheaper version of the car and they got one with leather interior etc, and the worst thing is alot of the people who think that treat their pets as accessories rather than companions and furbabys, I find it so sad :( . I've met a few though that just thought they were cuter because they were smaller, and love them to death too though. I think all Yorkies are adorable :) and I love my lil rugrat |
All I can think of as I read some of the comments that people have had to endure regarding their yorkies is the line from the movie "Forest Gump"........... "Stupid is as stupid does." |
I can't even begin to express how much I wish Bug would have grown bigger! I love her no matter what, and I wouldn't trade her sweet disposition for anything, but for her health, and the hope of living a long, normal life, I would have been thrilled if she could have grown to 4, 6, 8, even 20 pounds. I know people tallk about being able to take the tiny ones with them everywhere they go, but anywhere they are allowed to be would allow all kinds of dogs anyway...the only benefit to having a purse sized dog would be to sneak them in places where they are not allowed. I guess they get a special rush knowing they're breaking a rule and getting away wtih it...that's the only explanation I can come up with anyway. |
