Some people should not own dogs I know how frustrating this can be. I try to get along with neighbours, but the people next door to us owned a Pit Bull, that they tied to the back door stoop, and there he stayed morning, noon and night. He did have a dog house, and just enough rope to get him there. Well, they moved, and guess what? They left him. What I had heard from other neighbours was that they would be checking on him, and would be back to take him with them. Days turned into weeks, and he was still there. In the meantime, I called the SPCA, who came around, only to say that he did have shelter and food and water, and there was nothing they could do. I decided to feed him, and at first I would shove a bowl of food with the end of a broom handle to him, because I was unsure of what he would do. Same thing with the water. As the days went by, I was able to go up to him and lay his food down. The last day I fed him, as I was bending over, he licked my cheek almost to say thank you. The next day, they came and got him. What is wrong with people? How could anybody be so mean? Just listening to him howl at first from lonliness was almost more than I could bare. I never saw him again, and I hope and pray he had a good outcome. Thanks for listening. Janice |

My neighbor leaves his dog outside all the time and never takes him in. I think it is a beagle and he uses him for hunting. They have a covered fence type cage thing they keep him in and the yards are fenced in. When it is cold out the neighbor goes out and starts a fire in a barrel next to his kennel I guess to keep him warm. I dont know what is more hassel having his dog in the house when it is cold or going out and starting the fire for the dog. He never barks. |
I had an idea. You could contact someone in the nearest German Shepherd Rescue organization. Either by email (with photos) or letter or phone call. Get them riled enough about that poor dog and they might just jump in and help that dog out. |
