...Gay!! We took Jacks to the dog park today and some lady came up to us and said, "I'm sorry but that's a gay haircut." She was referencing his top know on his head. We were SHOCKED!!

Now, my husband is not a fan of his little top knot but even he was ticked off! How dare she say that!? Who raised you to say such things?!

I'm still fuming!!!

Some people just have no manners. Don't let it bother you. Consider the source. Besides its just her opinion and opinions are like buttholes. Everone has one and some of them stink.

Some people open their mouth and say things most people would never imagine saying. :eek: This lady sounds like one of them. It is not 'gay' to put a topknot on a boy dog. They do it all the time at dog shows. It shows what an elegantly beautiful dog that Yorkies are! ;) She is just ignorant dear. I would have been fuming too! :mad:

How rude!! you seem to meet the rudest of people when you own a yorkie...they seem to think for some reason that it is ok to insult your dog..what they probably don't realise is that these dogs are our babies..insult them, insult US!:mad: I have encountered these sorts of rude, uneducated idiots myself many times as a yorkie owner...they seem to think they are witty and that they are the first person to have ever called my baby 'A Rat'...it's not the first or last time i will hear this pathetic, not in the least bit amusing comment...and the only Rat I can see is not the one being walked on a lead with a bow in it's hair.

Apparently she was so jealous she just could not contain herself...many people always think we are nuts with out dogs, what they wear, what they eat...just do not let it get to you! I am sure he looked so handsome!!!

my girlfriend said "what the heck is that thing?" the first time she met bruno...riiiight 1/2 hour later she wanted one

they are the most precious animals on the planet... and they have the best personalities - in my biased opinion :)

my 19 year old male cousin who was wearing a pink shirt called Gino a rat, and I proceeded to call him gay for wearing a pink shirt. He said Im not gay! I said well hes not a rat! WAtch what you say, punk! ;)

They always ask me if my 3 are girls because of the top knots and I "educate" them by telling them that a Yorkie and Maltese are born to wear topknots!!!! Some not so nice words would have come out of my mouth if they called one of mine gay...but then I have a big mouth.:eek:

You should have said "Yes my dog's top knot makes him very happy, as happy is the original meaning of the word gay."

Good for him!! We were just so taken aback by what she said that we really didn't know what to do. I immediately picked Jackson up and said, "Oh Jack, you look sooo cute in your top knot!! Yes you do!!"

i can't believe how rude some people can be..i sometimes get nasty comments about my babies also..but they are just jealous since they can't have yorkies..don't pay attention to them..you baby is a hot stud muffin..Oh, and Tumi's boyfriend Turbo is the hunkiest boy ever and he has top knot!! tumi findes it very very handsome!

I probably would have told her where to go and how to get there and if she didnt understand I would have given her instructions!! I have a very big mouth when I need too...that lady would have been more shocked and embarrassed when I got done with her :D

Maybe i just have thick skin but I just don't let stuff like that bother me. Heck, my mom says I'm destined to make Slade gay by dressing him up.

I usually just roll my eyes at whoever and go about my business. With ppl like that, they usually WANT a reaction from you. So I dont give them the satifaction of getting it.

I hear that kind of stuff all the time, but using the word "gay" as a derogatory term really bothers me. I don't know why yorkies are magnets for ignorant, stupid people. :mad:
