I've had one! I have had a chincilla before unfortunately he got sick and passed away about 2 years ago. His name was Chi-Chi. He was adorable and a great pet my first cat even played with him. I used to block off the living and let them play together he was not scared of the cat a bit and Patches never hurt him nor did he bite her. I have never heard of them biting before. I think my personal opinion is to let him get one. They do make balls especially for them to come out and play in so they do not get injured. If you want more info on them PM me and I'll tell you as much as I know. Good Luck!!!! :) :thumbs_up :p |

Depends on the personality and prey drive of your Yorkies. Mr. Bun WOULD DEFINETLY TRY TO KILL IT! At the last earthdog trial, he had the judge in sstitches. She said to me "I was expecting a cream puff and what I got instead was a dog who was trying to chew through the bars to get at the rat." I had to pluck the splinters from the wooden bars out of Bun's teeth. We also had a Yorkie whose fav pasttime was scooping the Gecos out of my brother's fish tank and eating them! Our princess penny though, is a sweetheart with very low prey drive. Her best friend in the world happens to be our parrott and I'm more worried that her feathered friend will hurt her, than the other way around. |
I can say from experiance these are great pets. It has it's pwn cage and if you want to let it run you just get the big ferret ball. ( I do not reccomned them running around all by themselves) They dont bite unless previously agressive, and they are so super soft and cuddley. I had 2 for several yeares, a mating pair. It wasnt until the male got seriously injured we had a problem. (he got caught on the side of his cage somehow and broke several bones.) However I would let your husband have his pet, after all imagine how you would feel if he tried to tell you no on keeping your babies. ;) |
