Ruby's mom - Have you heard anything from your vet? when I first got my puppies, the began having loose stools - I changed them to bottled water and gave them immodium AD. Have you changed food recently? |
TJ and Roxy are still having mushy poop. Roxy's is at least 'log like' but it is mushy inside. TJ's looks like a big glob of soft ice cream and it sometimes has very watery mucus. I did change their food from Eukanuba to Innova (...cold turkey, I know I shouldn't have done that but the Eukanuba was make them sooooooo itchy). And they are such little buggers, they eat anything and chew on the corners of the walls/moulding. I have to watch them constantly. So, I think it is the combo of the change of food and the wall (paint, wood and sheetrock) in their system. Oh yeah, also TJ drank a little of the soapy water from his bath the other day and he also slipped his tongue in the conditioner cap, so maybe all that is not agreeing with him. I am still feeding them boiled chicken and rice and leaving the Innova puppy dry out while I am at work. I also give them 4cc of pedialite before I leave in the AM and this morning I gave TJ 3cc of Immodium b/c he had that mushy diarrhea at 5am. Does this all make sense? |

Maybe not switching the food gradually was too much for their little tummies. I think giving them the boil chicken and rice is a good idea. You said that TJ's poop has mucus, if this continue in a couple of days I will take a poop sample to the vet to be safe. Good luck and please keep us posted. |
Marie, Thanks for your advice. If it doesn't get better by Friday, then I will bring in a sample to the Vet. If it is still ok with you I will e-mail you pics over the weekend (I want to take new ones) of Roxy & TJ for you to help me resize and post them...thanks! |
Sure you can email me the pics and I will resize them for you. Pm me anytime. :) |
