Parti's and Biewers I'm not really sure what section to post my question in so i put it here. I am thinking about getting another dog and i've always loved the biewers because of their colors. so here's my question: Do parti's have a temperament like a yorkie or like a biewer? i have noticed that biewers and yorkies are slightly different because morgan's breeder had both. Morgan's is a splitter in fact and i believe she is more like a biewer personality wise and i LOVE it. I think the personality difference is part of what makes them a different breed even tho they did originally come from two standard yorkies. |
I don't see any difference in temprament between my traditionals and my partis. they are all energetic, affectionate, strong headed, and not yappy. |

i'm curious about the temperament because morgan is calmer and more laid back from most yorkies that i've met. She is also affectionate and not yappy. As far as energetic, well she is when we play but then goes right back down to zero and will lay down and go to sleep. She's not always crawling up my leg for attention. She can entertain herself. I love that. I was wondering if other biewers were the same or if its just her any biewer owners have any input? |
Nappy is more laid back than AprilLove. A little bit :) The best way I can describe the difference between my two, is the Biewer is just like a Yorkie but without the Yorkie "tude" LOL. It could also be because he is a boy, and she's a girl. Maybe the members with female and male Biewers and Yorkies will chime in. |

i know we have lots more biewer owners on here so i hope they speak up. i would love to hear their comparisons. |
There is IMHO a definite difference between the Biewers and Yorkies in temperment and yappiness. The Biewers are less crazy and more cuddlesome. The yorkies are more independent. I have both girls and boys so I don't think it is a sex/gender issue. |

No, he came from Germany with his sibling and Dam to a breeder near me. |
Are biewers bigger than yorkies? I mean i know our yorkies all come in different sizes, but it seems most of the pictures that i see of biewers they look bigger? just curious:p |

I can see a difference in the attitude too...my Biewer girls are laid back and quiet...even though they both are very capable of barking they just don't very often. Now, playtime is a different story...they're rough and tumble tomboys and you better stay out of their way when they get going! COyorkieLover...in my opinion yes, the Biewers are a little bigger than the Yorkies. They seem to be a little longer in the back than a Yorkie but if you look at the picture of the parents of the first Biewer they were both built that way so that was their foundation. Some Biewers are small and fine boned and some are bigger...just like the Yorkies...they are both pretty much all over the scale. Actually, I prefer the heavier bone structure of my girls to the fine bones of my boys...but, don't tell my boys! |

right now i only have one dog but omg i've been trying to "steal" every small dog that has come into work lately. Today we had a 4lb maltese come in and he was the cutest maltese i have ever seen. then there was the brown cock-a-poo last week, he was also really small. And a co-worker is fostering a tiny tiny shih tzu puppy that was abandoned at the hospital. this puppy is so small because she was sick shortly after being born. i want another small dog for morgan to play with and i want one with the same temperament. I think a biewer would be perfect. know any in the north east area? |

ahahaha i didn't even notice until you said something! |
I am far from an expert...I raised one to 12 months..and now I have her daughter who is 14 weeks...Rini and I have both found the Biewers to be more aggressive,(not biters or mean) barkers and generally more active....but you have to remember I have developed a line of very even tempered Yorkies, who are not prone to barking or some of mine can be laid back to the point of ignoring everything...we had people shooting off fireworks on New Years Eve and Kate never bothered to get off the couch to check it out..Becca was about the same...but the little Biewer wanted out to get them... |

DUMB question Please excuse my ignorance, But, what is a biewer? |
A biewer is like a parti (tri colored) yorkie except not. LOL check out scrapindee's website. She breeds biewers and she posted earlier in this thread. |
Livi is my parti girl and she has the typical Yorkie spunk. She has the most amazing temperment...honestly,the best of any dog that I have ever owned or have been around!!! She is fun and feisty, but yet the biggest love EVER!!!! She would spend the whole day laying in our lap or running and playing if that's what we wanted her to. Her and I were just playing earlier this evening....she was running behind furniture (she thinks she is so clever in her hiding spots.) :p and my childrne and I were crawling on the floor, chasing her. She just loves this! She will run and run but as soon as I tell her that it's time to calm down, that's just what she does. She will then jump up on the couch and climb into our laps. I am so thankful to her breeder for not only raising such a healthy, beautiful girl, but one that has an EXCELLENT temperment! Tammy |
hmmm, wonder if the white coloring makes them calmer LOL that can't be said for other white breeds tho or white anomalies in different breeds. |

No, the white on the Biewers does not apply or reflect any health issues. The standard for the Biewer is 4-7#. Just like a 5'3" female whose weight should be 90-125#--some fit the range--some are bigger--some are smaller. Have not heard before where Biewer/s were/are more aggressive. Maybe your yorkies are reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly laid back. My Biewers are well-socialized, gentle, friendly and yet alert if there is someone strange on the street. My webmaster just updated my website--now that the holidays are over...enjoy. |
Biewers I am going to ask Rini..she has raised many of both.... I hope this new Biewer is more laid back then her mother...I can in no way say Bella was hyper, but she used to run through the house, on and off the furniture, chair to chair, never learned to walk..LOL and bounced at the glass door to go out...if I ignored her she barked and barked. So I would let her out and she barked at the neighbors. My standard Yorkies are just so different...totally uninterested in barking at people. They are curious, active, but when they want out, they sit by the door, they do not jump and bounce against it. I am a bit more excited about having Victoria today after reading she has the potential to be laid back...she is very smart and I only have to show her something once...the others are smart, but only obey if it suits their mood. |

Would the Rini that you're speaking of be Rini Werner in MD? If so, I purchased my parti carrier boy, pictured in my avatar, from her. My Smiley is by her AKC parti stud Remi. Just wondering if your Rini was the same. |
Rini Yes..Rini and I have been close friends for a long time...we talked for 3 hrs on Wed..LOL Sue..do you have a web site? |
